Nice Cozy Place
DivyaCatherineon 14/11/2016 10:10The hotel is tucked into one of the smaller streets of Venice. The place is very convenient as it is Very near the Rialto Bridge.
The Host were wonderful and helped us get around and plan out sight seeing by giving suggestions of the main places to visit.
The rooms are well maintained and had a rustic look to them. Very comfy with all basic amenities.
We had to leave Venice early, and the staff packed a small breakfast of buns butter and nuttella.
All in all will definitely reccomend!
Perfect location for sightseeing
Isla Jon 28/10/2016 10:49Great location. Lots of getting lost to find it first, but that's part of the charm of Venice! Clean room and friendly staff.
The breakfast was a little limited but otherwise everything was very good. The man on the desk booked us tickets for a concert so was very helpful.
Very pleasant hotel in San Polo
Giuseppe_55414on 17/07/2016 03:53Arco Antico Guest House (formerly Ca' Arco Antico) was recommended in a New York Times travel article as an inexpensive family-friendly hotel. We stayed for nearly a week and found it to be a very pleasant place to stay. The breakfast was good and the staff very helpful.
As with nearly any address in Venice, you'll need to follow the directions very carefully. If you take a water taxi, the hotel is only 50 meters from the dock, but if you walk from the closest vaparetto stop, it's can be complicated the first time. Don't be afraid to ask for help from locals.
The rooms are furnished in classic Venetian style with very large rooms. There may be a few rooms with a narrow view of the canal, but this is not a major feature of this hotel.
All in all, the Arco Antico is a solid moderately priced family-friendly hotel in a very nice neighborhood very near the Rialto.
Small & cosy
djdracon 12/03/2016 15:00This little, nice hotel is perfect located for trips. Really not easy to find. If you come by water-taxi, the driver will bring you nearly in front of the door (40m straight). Very friendly service! Simple breakfast-buffet, but ok. Rooms are big enough and everything is clean. Restaurants and bars nearby.
I will come back!
Great location for a stay in Venice
211PDAon 07/11/2015 19:42We had a 3 night stay in a standard twin room in Ca Arco Antico in October.
Undoubtedly, having read through other reviews, our room was one of the smaller available. There was no gap between the 2 beds, which were smaller than a normal single size, obviously converting into a double as required.
The view from our window was onto the opposite wall, and our room was situated adjacent to the breakfast room which, as previously commented by other reviewers, was a little bizarre but at no time noisy or disturbing.
The room was clean and simply but adequately furnished. There were some minor irritations - a sticking wardrobe and an erratic fridge - but nothing that overly concerned us. The bathroom was clean, modern and well lit. The TV with one English language channel ( BBC News) and excellent free wifi connection were a bonus.
Breakfast was served between 8.30 and 10 a and was a self serve buffet of meats, cheese, cereal, fruit, croissants, yoghurt etc that certainly was enough to set us up for the morning.
The location of this B & B was perfect, only a few metres away from the lively streets of San Polo but quiet enough to be away from street noise. We had no difficulty in locating the guest house which was a 20 minute walk from the bus station. The Rialto Bridge is just 5 minutes away, the Grand Canal just steps away and a stroll of 20 minutes brings you to the heart of St Marks square.
The only hesitation I have in fully recommending this as being a perfect place to stay was the air conditioning. The room became very warm and stuffy, even on the rainy Ocotber evenings of our visit, and the air conditioning, whirring away ineffectively, had no impact on the room temperature. We opened the windows for some relief which did allow cool air into the room but unfortunately, awakening the next morning covered in mosquito bites, we realised cool air was not the only entrant!
Overall an excellent place to stay, friendly staff, 1st class location and great value for money but if air conditioning is important to you, then avoid.
