Gluten free breakfast available!
US75on 22/06/2017 11:19I had booked an apartment for my wife, 2 sons (14&12) and I at the property. I called them before my stay to find out the number of bathrooms and Matteo who answered said he'd be happy to give us an apartment with 2 bathrooms and he also confirmed that he would offer some gluten free eatables at breakfast for my son.
The apartment is a short walk from the Sant Angelo Vapo station (Line 1). The building isn't anything to look at from outside (like most Venetian buildings). But the location is excellent and its a short walk to San Marco and to Rialto. There are a few nice cafe's and bars right next to the property.
We had to wait till 2:30 pm for check in as we had reached early but the rooms were worth the wait. Matteo checked us in quickly and showed us to our room. The apartment was well sized keeping in mind Venice and the bathrooms were good sized too. The apartment had a small kitchenette and a fridge and a coffee machine. An Italian breakfast was served in the room every morning. The room was cleaned everyday and fresh water put in the room.
Matteo and Diego were excellent to deal with and the lady who served breakfast and cleaned the room was also very helpful. Matteo ensured there was lots of gluten free stuff for breakfast for my son.
Good place to stay in Venice with the family.
Beautiful room, great location
Tomlas23on 18/06/2017 21:09Stayed here for 2 nights with my family of 5. Unit is well located and easy to get to via short walk with luggage from San Angelo water bus stop. Room and building are totally charming in a well located, quiet area. Staff are as helpful as can be but are only there from 2.30pm to 5.30pm so don't expect concierge service. They were happy to book water taxi to train station for us on departure as well as make recommendations for dining. Excellent corner cafe 10m away where we had Italian breakfast (espresso and croissant) each morning before starting our daily adventures. Will stay here again and highly recommend.
Rooms are beautiful but service is lacking
truerevion 18/02/2017 00:50The rooms are all beautiful and the location is great but the service needs to improve to get a better score. We stayed in a room on the second floor, a fantastic room with a nice balcony looking out on the square. However, we were moved to this room after finding unsatisfactory levels of cleanliness in the first apartment (bedsheets had not been changed and were dirty). Breakfast is pretty poor also and wifi did not work in our room. We would stay again if a booster was purchased to ensure wifi covers the whole hotel and if breakfast was more plentiful than a few bread rolls and biscuits. If you can match your service to the luxury of the rooms, we would consider giving Ca'Mariele another chance.
A nice surprise
theadmiral28on 24/10/2016 06:14On approaching the hotel I was concerned by the very austere exterior. I need not have worried. The apartment was lovely, light and airy. We arrived fortunately, when reception was manned (usually only 4 hours a day) we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman called Benjamin. He provided much local information and pointed out places of interest on a map.
He showed us to the apartment and opened up the kitchen (like a mirrored wardrobe) and
showed us the bathroom.
The kitchen was workable but very few utensils were provided. There was no facility for drying dishes so do take a tee towel. A packet of white napkins were provided.
The sponge for cleaning dishes was stained and I would have preferred to start off with a new one.
There was a small drinks machine provided with a selection of pods. Most contained a malted drink though there was one lemon tea and a coffee. You could not obtain hot water without inserting a pod so we used one of two saucepans provided to boil water.
We used the upstairs bed on a meZamine floor. It was large and comfortable. There was a bed settee in the living quarters but we had no call to use this and would have preferred to be able to sit on it as a sofa. The heating and the air conditioning were effective.
Clean towels were provided each day and the bed changed half way through our four day stay. The bins were emptied daily.
The area was very convenient for everywhere. Our room, apartment two, overlooked a small square at the back of a hotel. It was a walk through to the Main Street but remained very quiet except for the wheels of suitcases over the cobbles. A lovely establishment in a splendid location with almost everything you could want on the door step.
Great place... not great service
Pece_77on 18/09/2016 19:41I was here with my girlfriend for a short weekend in Venice (1 night only).
The room was VERY NICE, and the position is great but...:
- the bathroom was not very clean (hairs in the WC)
- the check-in was more than 30min late (we arrived at 14.30 and called the phone number but we had to wait more than half an hour).
...it's a good place... but I think the staff has to improve a bit !
