What People are saying

Basic and fit for purpose for a short stay

Tendai Ton 12/08/2017 15:41

Stayed there with a friend for one night. Though clean-ish and functional, I would not recommend this hotel for more than a very short stay. Reasons as follows:
- bed was clean and comfortable, but headboard, beside cabinets bathroom and carpet looked a bit old and tired.
- bathroom shower door didn't close properly. Shower was mouldy in corners. Bathroom also very small which I wouldn't prefer over a longer stay.
- great central location near st. Marco square and shopping district.
- no breakfast. But a nice touch is a coffee machine and coffee capsules included free in the room.
- lovely host. Friendly and welcoming.
- I was not a fan of the plastic like curtains.

Amazing location

We decided to spend 3 nights in Venice for my partner's birthday and was looking for a place to stay. I was looking for a place close to the main St Marco square.

I came across the Ca Pedrocchi through booking.com. It was located a short 5 min walk away from the main square and as we discovered on the main shopping street with al the major designer shops.

The hotel can arrange a private water taxi for you from the airport at the standard rate of €120 . There are cheaper alternatives for example the water bus. The private water taxi is worth it if you can afford to do it, the journey takes 30 min as apposed to 90 mins on the water bus.

We opted for the private water taxi, it was a 10 min walk from the departure lounge at the airport down to the docks.

To our surprise the owner of the Ca Pedrocchi was waiting for us at the jetty when we arrived in Venice. This was a great touch as it can be difficult to find your way round.

We were escorted to the hotel. It is not your conventional hotel with a reception etc more like apartments spread across the top 2 floor of the building. There are no lifts so have this in mind if you have heavy luggage, wheelchair etc.

Our room as on the 2nd floor there is a lobby area with the rooms going of this. We had room 22.

The room was excellent, it was decorated by a an artist from Barcelona, it had a coffee machine and fridge. There was complimentary coffee pods and water. These were replenished every day of your stay.

During check in the owner discovered it was my partners birthday and came back with a bottle of prosecco and two glasses. This was a lovely gesture.

You are given an electronic fob for the main door for you to come and go as you please. The rooms are cleaned everyday.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Venice I would highly recommend ca pedrocchi it's an excellent location, home from home and the owners can not do enough for you. We will definitely be returning for our next visit to Venice.

I selected Ca'Pedrocchi due to its location...the hotel is about a 3-4 minute walk to Piazza San Marco and is very close to the Grand Canal and a few water bus stops. The location could not be more central to visiting Venice.

In terms of the actual hotel, it is a very good value. Many other hotels in the area are much more expensive in the surrounding area. If you do not want to break the bank but want to be in the heart of Venice, then this is the place for you.

The actual room was very clean and comfortable, although the furniture was a bit dated but adds to the Venice charm. As other reviewers noted, you will need to walk up a few flights of stairs but this is typical of Venice given the older rooms. The room was nicely equipped and two free water bottles are included daily.

The manager of the hotel, Alvise, was friendly and helpful in providing recommendations. Make sure you print out the map and directions that are sent over prior to your stay which will be very helpful when trying to find the hotel. I hope to be back in Venice some day and will likely stay at this property again.

Great Stay

We flew into Venice for a very brief stay in this beautiful city. We knew we weren't going to be in any hotel long, so we wanted to make an economically and geographically logical decision. After consulting Trip Advisor, we picked Ca' Pedrocchi and couldn't have been happier.
Our arrival was after 11pm, so we had been given ample instructions on how to get to the hotel and how to access late check ins. We decided to opt for a private water taxi at the last minute, simply out of exhaustion. We arranged it ourselves just outside the airport. It was expensive at 110 Euros but we still consider it money well spent. When we arrived at the hotel, we simply followed the instructions given to us and easily checked in to our second floor room. Thank you Trip Advisor for telling us about the stairs...2 floors was plenty to haul our suitcases up!
The room was small (because it's Europe) with 2 twin beds. Most importantly, it was clean. Really clean. Which is all we really cared about.
The hotel manager came up to our room at 9am to officially welcome us and help us map out our day so we wouldn't get lost. It's so close to the square and just really easy to get around from. Considering Venice is notoriously easy to get lost in, we were exceptionally grateful. We felt very fortunate to find such a great hotel, well run hotel with such an amazing location.
The stairs are not a joke though. It was tough carrying suitcases up them, but you've been warned by pretty much every review. There isn't breakfast but the cafes are plentiful. The room we had, #24, was quiet and faced onto the street. We highly recommend staying here as long as you don't have mobility issues.
