Okay types . Not worth you pay!
Neelima Gon 23/06/2017 12:53Well, we stayed in this hotel for 8 days during our visit to Shillong last week. Initially, we had to stay in the classic room for one day, which is good to go for and caters some beautiful views to the hills and other natural beauty of Shillong as it's on the second floor. Then we shifted to the Luxury room which cost more and is on the Ground floor as it was pre booked. Here comes our observations:
1. They do not have in house pantry and restaurant. They only offer breakfast that too same menu for any number of days you stay there. So for 8 days we had an exactly same breakfast.
2. They will offer you dinner from their own restaurant , which is not inhouse, with almost no veg options
3. The washroom had small insects and mosquitoes as they were not clean. The classic rooms were very very clean as they seemed newly constructed.
4. They seemed a bit apprehensive in giving toiletries and would remind you of number of tooth brushes and shampoo pouches given already :D
5. The worst part was no electricity backup. During our stay , two days there was no electricity for around 4-5 hours each , we sat without electricity and couldnot move out because of rain too.
6. We also felt lack of privacy in luxury rooms
The hotel is good , but the management and the services are almost NIL and not good. They were not the worth , how much we paid for it
Warm Regards!
Happy stay !
Cosy, colonial style bungalow !
Romashka1984on 05/06/2017 19:06We stayed for four nights in this beautiful colonial style bungalow which has been converted into a B&B and enjoyed it thoroughly. A fitting place to stay in a hill station like Shillong!
A tiny garden with a sit out and colourful flowers is an added attraction. There are four rooms in the bungalow and three in an annexe added next to it.
Rooms are fairly big with a modern bathroom attached. Since we were three adults, they put up an extra bed in the room which was very comfy.
Hot water kettle with tea and coffee is available in the room as also a refrigerator.
Breakfast, served in the kitchen cum dining room, is wholesome with Indian dishes as well as cornflakes, eggs made to order, juice etc.
There is no room service or restaurant but lunch and dinner can be ordered in from the nearby Cafe Shillong restaurant about 10 mins away.
The B&B is located a little away from the crowded city centre ( Police Bazaar) which was a boon for us but may be a bit inconvenient for people looking for restaurants, night life etc. On the other hand Laitumkrah which is where the young crowd hangs out, is a 10 min walk ( uphill and downhill !).
Overall, we had a great stay. The staff were nice and friendly, the place was well maintained with all amenities. We loved it.
A welcome change from the run-of-the -mill characterless hotels.
Very good property
997ashishgon 23/05/2017 18:37The property is really very good. The rooms are spacious and we'll maintained. The location of the cafe is very good. The area is very silent. The only issue was the breakfast, it was not that good. Overall the stay was good but the food was not that good.
Beautiful boutique hotel
sudhanaron 23/05/2017 05:35We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely little Boutique hotel which was tastefully designed with lovely decorated rooms, comfortable beds & pillows
Staff at the hotel was very helpful and provided a delightful homemade breakfast. Special mention of the fabulous Assam tea :)
Ask for a room on the upper floors for a better view.
