It's better to take a 5minute ride in a cab to better hotels

The only advantage of it is the place, because it's situated right in the center of the city. The staff at reception doesn't know English at all, so they won't be able to help you with anything, the rooms have old and not many furniture, but the bathroom with a shower is pretty good. The breakfast is poor. For this price you'll be able to find more comfortable hotels only in a 5minute distance far from it.
Good luck!

Clean and quite easy to find.

The hotel has a nice reception and the room is clean. It has a nice bathroom and walk in shower.

Compared to European hotels we've visited it is quite basic. The pool is small and uninviting in the basement.

No aircon

Descent place but if you're looking to stay in a hamam this is it. While its 40 degrees outside, you can be sure it will be 75 degrees in your room because there's no air conditioning. Well there is but apparently it isn't working and although I called and told them they simply said it was down.

Good medium priced hotel in central Afyon

A return visit to Afyon (last time in '93). Decided on this place.
Pros: parking for the motorbike in their basement garage and then take the lift to reception; reception efficient and friendly, free use of a computer in the foyer; spacious room with tub in bathroom; good selection for breakfast on the top floor and take it onto the terrace for a magnificent view of the rock fortress; ditto dinner with beer; housekeeping also very good, refreshing my minibar and changing the towels etc..
Cons: as advised in a previous review - they have wedding parties here, a bunch of screaming kids running around the atrium/ballroom level until 11:00 at night - get an outside room. I understand now why the nice receptionist actually went to the extent of using her smartphone to translate the fact that they only inside rooms available.
I would definitely stay here again with the right room.

Enjoyed Afyon and Cakmak Marble Otel

Afyon was truly a perfect choice to break between cappadocia and bursa/istanbul. The sight of the fortress from almost anywhere in town is impressive.
I think I was the only tourist in town, I didn't see any. Folks were curiously friendly. Way to much tea! I went on a rural daytrip to Ayazini, that was super!
Otel Cakmak was very good, I had a newly renovated room, was in fact the first one staying in the room. The room was in a separate part with it's own elevator and I believe I was alone in that part. The bed was too hard for a good sleep, they need to put on a top mattress (Ikea will be fine).
Breakfast is at the rooftop and then coffee outside on the terrace with the fortress in sight.
Payed 40 € for a single room.
People at the hotel are polite but they hardly speak English and aren't really used to or focusing on tourism, don't expect any info. Around the corner is a tourist office that was always 'closed for prayers'. But the Simit man in front of it keeps some brochures to help you out.
