The rooms are wonderful, breakfast is delicious, wifi works flawlessly, hot pool is relaxing... you get the idea. It's perfect- and everything in Telluride is a simple walk away.
Great Location
Laurence Mon 21/05/2017 06:43We stayed in the of season and it was great. The rooms are huge with a fireplace. The tubs are also large - takes forever to fill but great. The hot tub is great but the jets do not have much force. Location is awesome with underground parking. Breakfast is typical and is on the second floor. We would definitely stay here again.
My new favorite hotel
SARAH Fon 03/04/2017 22:00We stayed at Camel's Garden for the last weekend of the ski season. We had a great experience. The rooms are really huge making this a great spot for families with children. They offer continental breakfast which is included in the price of the room - another boon for families with children especially when you're trying to get everyone up on the slopes for the day. While we were there the breakfast included smoked salmon and bagels which was a lovely surprise. The hot tub is also awesome as is the steam room. The bedrooms themselves, apart from being massive are also very comfortable and the bathrooms are nice.
They do have parking, but be aware that it's limited.
In terms of location, you really can't ask for anything more, it's a easy walk to all that Telluride has to offer and literally next door to the gondola, so for skiing or accessing mountain village it's the best location around.
The staff were also great.
Terrific Hotel, Great Location
melkel2016on 25/03/2017 22:02Our family has been a guest at either Camel's Garden or the Ice House Lodge (now only condominiums) with only a couple exceptions for 15 or more years. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. The deluxe rooms have fireplaces and nice views of the mountain and stream that runs behind the hotel. We have stayed there in all seasons, mostly in March, but also for Mountainfilm and a couple times in the summer. It's always great.
The hotel does offer wine and cheese in the lobby by the fireplace late afternoon which is very nice. It also serves a deluxe continental breakfast - try the bagels with creamed cheese, salmon and capers. Yum.
The front desk is manned 24 hours a day, so if you arrive in the middle of the night as we did at 1:30 AM you can check-in to your room. Christopher was especially friendly and helpful after our long day of travel from the East.
The location of Camels Garden is the best; at lift 8 if you want the serious side and access to the whole mountain, and the gondola if you wish to go to Mountain Village. It is in the town of Telluride and near the town park, so it is close to walking around as we like to do after dinner.
If you go, be sure to visit RICO'S BAR still at the Ice House next door. He is so personable. Rico sometimes serves the breakfast at Camel's Garden.
Ski in and Out Gem
Brittany Bon 07/03/2017 21:40Right next to the gondola that takes you up to allreds restaurant Or to telluride village..a few blocks from Main Street to walk to the stores..restaurants...loved how there's a ski rental place right next door..free wifi and parking!!!
