A beautiful house just north of Madrid
Michael Won 09/07/2015 01:34Ian hosted me and the rest of my family for two nights here and we all had a great time. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated, located in the mountains near the village of Soto de Real. It's a quiet place, yet not overly far from Madrid. Ian was a fantastic host in every way. It was a pleasure to talk to him and a pleasure to enjoy Spain in such a beautiful, carefree setting. Highly recommended.
Great place to stay for relaxing close to nature
LauridsenDenmarkon 02/07/2014 14:28After 4 days in the center of Madrid it was fantastic to drive 40 minutes north direction and found so nice place. We felt a warm welcome from friendly host.
Every morning we fresh baked bread and moffins and we got a good service for what to see and visit in the area close to the place.
Excellent stay- would definitely recommend
Muesli_fon 01/06/2014 21:50We spent two excellent days at Camino de Soto. We arrived late on the first evening and were treated to a delicious meal prepared by Ian. All the food we had over the stay was amazing, especially the home-made bread and the breakfasts. We felt really looked after and there were lots of really nice touches, like a picnic basket provided for our day trip. Ian was very helpful with planning itineraries, suggesting a great tour through the mountains on our last day. We stayed in the upstairs room, which had a mezzanine lounge and excellent views out onto the mountains. Would definitely recommend!
Great hosts and magnificent location
332RalphSon 02/05/2014 13:06We were looking for a quiet spot, well located to do various one-day-trips to the magnificent countrysides and villages north of Madrid, that we knew from the years we lived in Madrid 25 years ago, and Camino de Soto exceeded all expectations from the start. Not only the rooms with all their charming details made us feel at home, Ian and Juan Carlos were great hosts, always helpful when we needed it. Ian is an excellent baker and surprised us every morning wih a new creation at the wonderfully decorated breakfasttable. And the taste of the dinner they prepared for us is still on our tongue.
Next time we have to stay longer . ( Sorry for possible mistakes, english is not my native language )
An magnificent escape
dlilloon 28/11/2013 06:25After spending the first part of our visit in and around cities, our stay at Camino de Soto was a wonderfully relaxing change. The home is beautifully decorated and the luxurious room gave us an amazing view of the scenic landscape. Ian gave us great suggestions as we planned our itinerary--he even gave us a great lead for buying soccer tickets in Barcelona. We took advantage of his tour guide skills and explored places we would never have found or been able to reach on our own. If you go, be sure to splurge and have Ian and Juan Carlos prepare one of their dinners for you. Delicious!
