Good campsite and very good position!
872Chrison 16/07/2017 15:11Just finished a two weeks vacation at Norcenni club. We were staying at the up part of the village in a clamping 2. The chalet was brand new and very functional for the four of us (two adults and two children 10 and 13)! Good place to stay ! (Only negative point was the lack of kitchen equipment, it was just the strict minimum for four persons). Despite the very warm weather we enjoyed our holidays by staying at the camp and also visiting the beautiful region. The camp is very well located in the Chianti region, very close to Firenze which we visited twice during our stay. We visited Arezzo (45 mins drive), Sienna (1 hour drive) and the Chianti Classico area. We tried all three restaurants which offer very good Italian meals at affordable prices. I was just disappointed not having pizzas cooked using wood oven. There were all cooked using electric in all places. Ice cream was fantastic and all bars very nice.
We didn't enjoy the pool sides that much since we found them all very crowded and not comfortable. So we never stayed there more than an hour and a half in a row. So overall the place is probably very nice for families with young kids but not as nice for teenagers.
There is a train taking you from the up village to the central point every 20 Minutes which is very convenient. The two supermarkets offer a wide range of good products and reasonable prices. There are also supermarkets in the near villages.
Animation was only focusing on kids. Security at the pool was very good I must admit. I question the overall safety of the camp since it seemed easy to access the camp from the outside during regular hours. I would expect more focus from the guards or a different badge/code system t restrict access to the camp. They need to upgrade that. Security is very important more especially in those times.
So overall I rate it 3 and not 4 since I would have expected more comfort at the pool and different activities for the adults and teenagers.
Fantastic family holiday
Ray Kon 13/07/2017 10:01We spent 2 weeks here booking direct with ECVacanze and stayed in their Boricelli mobiles. We were in zone F and in the evening it was in the shade and cooler after days in the 30's. Sun in the morning overlooking the valley and hills were an outstanding view. With a 7 and 9 year olds there is plenty to do between the pools and animation they were never bored. Shows by the animation team kept the kids going in the evenings also. Facilities are excellent and the supermarket is reasonably priced but there is an excellent Coop in Figline. Norcenni Girasole is located in a valley and is very hilly. If you have an issue walking you'll be in trouble here. There is a train that bring you from the top pool to the bottom pool which is very good. The staff throughout the camp are outstanding. They were polite and helpful all the time. We had an amazing experience here and we will be back! My highlight was the tour of the Chianti vineyards. We visited two vineyards and Raddan in Chianti which is an incredible medieval town in the hills of Tuscany. There are small things for me that would make me look closer at returning. Firstly, the camps location is 2.5k outside Figline. This is not far but it is up the valley on narrow roads and not suitable for walking on. Secondly, you pay for the shuttle its not expensive but if you miss the scheduled bus and get a taxi to Figline 2.5k away its 15 to 20 euro. That's to expensive! Maybe the next time we will hire a car. Otherwise this place is class.
Great campsite
M Hon 11/07/2017 21:25Great campsite and base to travel and see the sites of Tuscany. The restaurants and supermarket are reasonably priced and serve great food and wine. Staff always courteous. Great base for touring the chianti region. Within travelling distance for Florence, Pisa and Arezzo. Would highly recommend for families with children of all ages !
Excellent fun for the whole family
South103on 11/07/2017 14:31Just back from a great holiday. Lots to do in this large park with 2 pool complexes.
The entertainment was good fun and the animation team worked hard to include everyone.
Sergio and his staff at the restaurant are worth a mention as the service, value and quality of food were fantastic!
Loved our stay!
Kingseyon 10/07/2017 14:39Lovely park in the beautiful Chianti region-typical Tuscan countryside views on your doorstep. Nice views from the waterparks and restaurants. Well serviced site with shops, restaurants, wine shop, surgery, pharmacy and tourist information. Restaurants good with nice menu selection (reviewed separately). Free Wi Fi on site. Daily activites for the kids and nightly shows for adults and children - these proved to be one of the highlights as the animation team are very good. The restaurant, bar and auditorium are laid out with a playground right adjacent and arcade underneath such that the adults can relax while the children move easily from one to the other. The bar entertainment was very good. The waterparks are a few minutes journey apart with free train shuttle between the the two. While the waterparks are very good, they were not as good as those at La Sirene in France so if you have been there, prepare for a downgrade! I imagine this is the case for many subsequent experiences once you have been there. However, a rubber ring in the lazy river brought lots of fun and enough to entertain. The tourist information team are very helpful and fine for the daily tours you can avail of from the camp (Florence, Pisa, Siena etc) but a bit limited on places you might want to travel to yourself. There is a shuttle to the nearby town (Figline) if you don't have a car. We booked with Eurocamp who were fine -friendly and helpful though do not give you as much information at the start as other companies. Their accomodation could probably do with an upgrade and was not as clean as what we had experienced before. However, their accomodation is nicely placed in a quiet area within a very short walk to the amenities. Due to the terracing, you may not be able to park on the accomodation site but nearby on the street which can be full at times. If you have not been to Florence, make sure you go! Siena very nice too. We will certainly be back!
