What People are saying

Clean and Convenient

1DisneyFan1955on 24/08/2017 18:54

Recently I had the opportunity to stay at this facility. I had never stayed at a Candlewood property, but knew the brand to be part of InterContinental Hotels Group / Holiday Inn chain. This is more of an extended stay facility, with each of their rooms nicely equipped with a dinette kitchen set up complete with full size refrigerator, automatic dishwasher, stovetop, glasses and dishes, pots, pans, toaster, etc. I think they probably cater to long term residents either from the hospital, construction groups, etc., but were more than happy to offer a competitively priced single night rate as well. All the employees were nice but not overly friendly, the hotel appeared to be full but was very quiet and you didn’t feel like you were in a bad part of town. The check in process was quick and convenient and our room was very clean. The mattress was comfortable but the sheets had a slight smell of bleach. On the positive side, you knew they were disinfected as well. The location of the property is right off the freeway, but you have to do a series of turns to actually get to the property. There is ample space for trucks, trailers, U-Hauls, etc. as the property is situated close to other hotels in the area and offers street parking for larger semi-trucks. The property has free laundry (no coins needed for wash/dry) but you need to have your own soap or they will sell it to you along with other drinks and snacks from “The Cupboard Store.” Warning – there is no pool or breakfast offered at this location and I did not see many restaurant options in the nearby area, however there was an Outback Steak House close by if you are looking for dinner. There are also gas stations located nearby as well.

Terrible Customer Service

MALLORY at the front desk did not greet us at check in. We arrived at 2:40pm and she told us she was too busy and check in time was 3pm. Huh? We're the only people in line in the empty lobby. We came back at 3pm. She was rude discourteous and abrupt, not only to us, but also to the couple ahead of us and to the couple behind us. She gave no eye contact. She slammed our paper work, shoved our keys and began hassling the couple behind us. If I had not already paid for our room, I would have turned heel and left.
Our room was clean and orderly (Debar was the housekeeper). Kitchenette was a bonus, well stocked and perfect for light meals.
Train sounds were soothing (I grew up near RR tracks) Get rid of Mallory and we'll return.

No rooms for us upon arrival after booiking 8 months in advance

Five (5) on motorcycles on a return trip to Arizona from Sturgis booked rooms here on Januray 18th 2017. Only close to 8 months in advance. We were greeted by a girl with psychedelic hair who told use the hotel had been overbooked "today" and we had been relocated to another facility 6 miles away. But it would be cheaper she said!!!!

You gotta be kidding us!!!! You overbooked the hotel "today" and "WE" were being relocated 6 miles away at after booking 8 months in advance.

Of course we asked to speak to the manager and that was what happened. And, the manager adjusted and we were given rooms.

This was really unacceptable even though the problem was straightened out. Kudos to the manager but totally unnecessary. This experience left everyone with a less than favorable opinion of this facility. We hoped it was not typical of this chain.

We had no clue why there was a mix-up but felt "really" unappreciated especially after booking so far in advance. Really, why were "we" the ones being inconvenienced.

This facility was a bit pricey and didn't really offer any amenities. They don't even have an ice machine!!!! Ice makers in the refrigerators that are turned off so you have to turn them on to get any ice. Which of course doesn't happen for a long while and then only 6 cubes.

Would most likely pass on this venue unless they were the only game in town on a late night.

beware

Pictures are not what is actual. Beware if there is an issue it WILL NOT get fixed and the GM will not contact you. Not a safe place - only one staff in the evening and if something needs attention there is NO ONE at the front to watch who comes in and front door is not locked - open all the time. Although they are pet friendly they have staff who are afraid of animals - and medium size dogs.

Pet friendly, clean hotel with kitchenette

Didi Pon 08/08/2017 17:29

This is a pet friendly hotel with a pet fee of $35 for 1-6 nights. It is a little steep if you will just be staying overnight.

But it is very clean and with a kitchenette if you would like to cook your own meals.
