Relatively new, convenient, bang for bucks
nnanhoon 08/08/2017 16:39We needed a kitchenette with stove and Candlewood was the cheapest hotel we could find with one. The room was relatively modern and new (I believe it was renovated just over a year ago), location was very convenient and close to highway and many stores/restaurants. As a trade off with price, Candlewood did not come with complimentary breakfast nor a pool, which worked for for me as we did not need it and preferred to have a lower rate. There was a paying snack bar that is unattended and worked on an honour system which is pretty well stocked. Front desk was helpful at check in and when requesting extra blankets (there was a sofa bed in the room, but it did not come with a duvet/blanket. We had no idea why they decided to not include it and make you ask for it. Although extra bed sheets and pillows were available.)
Overall Candlewood was a clean and comfortable stay and is an excellent value if one requires a no frills hotel with a well equipped kitchenette. Would definitely stay again.
Excellent in every important respect
Citallwicon 05/08/2017 17:24We had a very enjoyable stay, which is what we’ve come to expect from this Candlewood Suites. If memory serves, this recent stay was our third at this particular place. Few places we’ve stayed at in recent years have been as quiet as this motel, which is set back from the road and situated in a neighborhood that has a suburban office character. The staff was friendly and helpful. We very much appreciated the hospitality room, exercise room (small, but well equipped) and free laundry. Our room, number 140, was nicely appointed and had an excellent shower. We will definitely be back.
Clean, comfortable, convenient location, and cute
ChristyK15on 28/06/2017 04:45I had an early doctor's appointment near Beaumont and decided to spend the night nearby so as not to risk being delayed in traffic. What a pleasant surprise! The unit was perfect and if I were traveling on business, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here for an extended period of time. The room was on the small side but adequate with a bed, desk, and kitchenette. It had a large plush chair, a desk chair, and a kitchen-type chair that could be moved anywhere it was needed. The bed was comfy and the pillows soft. The bathroom even had a fan switch separate from the light switch, and the water pressure in the shower was great. The kitchenette had coffee and popcorn. The only thing the hotel didn't offer that I really needed was a shower cap, not even for sale in the Cupboard. The shower head was about seven feet high, so there was no easy way to avoid getting my hair wet. It also would have been convenient to have a luggage rack as I don't like putting my suitcase on top of the desk. If you are looking for a no frills (as in no breakfast, no pool, no coffee in the lobby) place to stay, this is a great value.
Quick stay was satisfactory
Luzan6on 17/06/2017 19:36I arrived the Candlewood for a quick overnight stay. I had a meeting the next morning nearby. I typically ask not to be placed on the first floor. The hotel clerk put me on the first floor, and right in the middle of everything. I wasn't pleased, but I planned to just go with the flow.
Upon entering the room, I was hit with a musty smell. The room looked clean, but the smell was too much. Plus, the air conditioner/heater was below the window and the air was blowing open the curtains. I know these are minor items, but still I just couldn't get comfortable with the room. I went to the clerk, and expressed my concerns. She decided to give me a different room. I ended up on the second floor. I was truly grateful for this.
The new room had no issues whatsoever. I will admit I was amused to see a DVD/VCR in the room.
They had room a laundry room and area where you can buy snacks and drinks.
I settled in nicely in the new room and slept well. I would definitely consider going back if I'm back in the area.

Susan Von 16/06/2017 22:18Perfect for a multiple days stay. The full size fridge and the spaciousness of the room is very nice. The property is well maintained and clean. Also nicely located to restaurants and major highways. All of the negative posts of the past have been addressed, i.e. slow internet and bad air-conditioning. We will be coming back in December.
