Not Even a Good Place
Anna Kon 16/08/2017 20:18Although the front desk personnel were extremely friendly, it didn't make up for the room. Here are just a few issues to share: carpet had not been sweep; found colored popcorn in places. The trash basket had "sticky" stuff on the bottom; so it was disgusting. The bathtub did not drain at all; they did fix this upon notification. The hair dryer had one speed; high which was terribly inconvenient. Bathroom sink leaked around the faucet; causing anything you left on the sink to get soaked.
Room had only a recliner which was located right next to the window air conditioner. And had to be in order to watch TV. But if you sat in this chair you froze while others in the room were comfortable. Room had one drab picture above the bed. Other than that the room was really dreary especially because of the lighting.
Understand this is an extended stay property but not to have rooms cleaned on a daily basis is almost unheard of anymore.
Even though this property is smoke free, room smelled of smoke and bathroom sink had a cigarette burn on it.
Would only stay here again as a last resort.
Nice place for a longer-term stay
badgerambleron 12/05/2017 13:38Check in was a bit of a hassle (no one at the front desk, then they couldn't find my reservation), but besides this initial impression I have to say my stay was pleasant. The room was clean and the kitchenette useful. Location is great: close to shops yet tucked away with the other hotels in the park. I stayed for a week or so and was offered a competitive rate, but didn't plan ahead with a major event that came into town and was forced to leave because of a rate increase. Would have stayed longer if this wasn't the case, but probably would stay here again.
Worst place ever, I walked out!
Joseph Don 19/02/2017 09:35I recently made a reservation to stay at the Candlewood Suites Elkhart, Indiana. Upon arrival the place smelled and the lobby was dirty. IHG needs to pull the flag from this properity! I am an IHG Spire Ambassador, which means I stay in alot of hotels and have for several years, first time I ever walked out of a properity. Take it from a seasoned traveler, run as far away from this hotel as fast as you can!
Home away
Jean P Won 12/01/2017 15:09Love this chain. A large room with full kitchen. Very comfortable and they allow pets. Such a pleasure to stay somewhere with friendly staff. A little hard to find, among so many other hotels, but the best. Located near Perkins, Cracker Barrel, Applebees, etc. Great pizza from Marco's and they deliver!!
Quick, easy, and efficient
William Con 16/11/2016 17:59There are lots of places to stay in Elkhart but this has been our best experience in comfort and service since we have been traveling through this town for the past 10 years. I am happy to report the hotel does not have a curry smell like others in town. The rooms offer a nice workspace/desk with all of the regular amenities. The only improvement I would make would be a bigger parking lot.
