What People are saying

Great Staff.. Clean, Comfortable Room

Jerry C on 15/06/2017 15:18

Stayed 06/06/2017 as a 5K point reward night. Hotel sits 250 yards off highway but there is no sign on the main road for the hotel. Note that it sits behind the Santa Fe restaurant. There is plenty of free parking and exterior is well maintained.

Our check in was wonderful, very friendly, helpful and professional. The lobby is large and bright, No breakfast area in a Candlewood as expected. There is a pantry for supplies if needed, elevator was clean, quiet and fast. Hallway carpet and walls were bright and unstained. Our room was large, well appointed, clean and well maintained. Carpet was unstained. WiFi access was speedy and reliable. The TV was smallish but had plenty of channels and switched quickly. Our two queen beds were clean, comfortable and had 4 pillows each. HVAC was digitally controlled and worked well. We love that you can open the windows in this and many Candlewoods. Everything in the good sized bathroom worked well. Water pressure was decent. All linen was clean and fairly new.

A few opportunities for improvement: Limited outlets near bed, the leather recliner arms were peeling. Overall, a good stay.

A Class Act!

This is a fantastic hotel! I’ve used this hotel as the recommended place to stay when hosting events in Enterprise, AL. The facility is modern, clean, quiet and a great place to relax/unwind. The hotel staff is extremely accommodating and pleasant. Thanks Candlewood Suites Enterprise for all you do!

Nice staff, but new renovation is meh, housekeeping so-so, and definitely exercise elsewhere

Room was a standard queen with kitchenette. Stayed for 3 weeks. Pretty far away from everything except another hotel and a terrible restaurant (Santa Fe Cattle Company). Do not expect to be within walking distance of anything. You will need a rental car or use a taxi service. I don't think there are many (or any) Uber drivers in the area.

Room was adequate, but you can tell right away it's a lowest-bidder renovation project. Possibly a work still in progress. I say this because there was still painter's tape on the doorknob in the bathroom. The work was not done well, as I noticed there were cut-marks around the faucet on the tub, which were not caulked and will likely pose a water damage issue at some point in the future. Also, I noticed loose tiles in the guest rooms and laundry area, and the weird "carpet baseboard" (carpet runs wall-to-wall and then up the wall about 5 inches) was not secured in some areas.

My room had a distinctive smell on arrival, which only got worse when I used the kitchenette to cook food. Even with leaving windows open and buying air freshners, it never really went away. The housekeeping manager said it was because of pets and offered to spray Febreeze on the carpet and drapes. He also stated they have the carpets steam cleaned quarterly. The housekeeping manager was very accommodating after my trash was not collected, the floor not vacuumed, and surfaces not wiped after a cleaning. They only clean once per week, so I was very disappointed that these basic tasks were not done. However, the problem was quickly rectified and the staff members were very courteous.

I was informed that if any personal items are left on any surfaces, the staff are not permitted to move anything to clean. For example, if you leave a shirt on your bed, they will not change out the linens. If you leave a tube of Chapstick on your night stand, they will not wipe the night stand. If you leave a dish on the counter, they will not wipe the counter. While I understand why this is their policy, there is little room in such a policy for common sense. If you stack your personal effects off to one side of the table, they still would not wipe the remainder of the table. I specifically requested, however, that they wipe any exposed surface area of the table around my personal effects. The housekeeping manager agreed to this request, but I wonder why this would not be a common sense rule.

Front desk staff were very courteous and frequently made suggestions about local sights to see while on my visit. Their recommendations for local restaurants were not always the best (see above comment about Santa Fe Cattle Co.), but they were very nice and pleasant. The Peanut Festival was on during my stay, and it's about a 30-40 minute drive, and something fun to do if you're here in November. I think it usually runs the first 2 weeks of the month.

Laundry facilities were in the gym area. Laundry is free. You can purchase soap and other convenience items (including food) from the on-site "Cupboard" (store), which is on the honor system. There's no breakfast offered because you have a full size fridge, microwave, and 2-burner cooktop in your room. Also included are a small coffeemaker and toaster. You can borrow other items like a toaster oven, blender, or waffle iron at no cost.

Finally the gym. It has a few free weights, couple treadmills, and a few other machines (elliptical, for example). One treadmill worked. All other machines had signs that they were "out of order" but never got repaired during my entire stay. Most other guests chose to go out in town and use the Planet Fitness or Gold's Gym, and some drove the 20 minutes to Fort Rucker.

Bottom line: friendly staff, housekeeping staff are pleasant but do not always perform the basics, renovation of the rooms is shoddy, and the gym leaves much to be desired (exercise elsewhere).

Terribly Unhelpful Staff

I stayed in Candlewood suites in the Enterprise, AL location and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've encountered. The only upside is that the staff was mostly friendly, but they were no help whatsoever and the stay was nothing but issues. To start off, I booked two nights, thinking my event on the 2nd day would go past check-out time. When I arrived I had to wait because no rooms were ready, but not too big of a deal as I was about 15 minutes early for check in. But when I got to my room, after dragging two dogs and 2 bags upstairs, neither of my keys worked. I had to grab a woman and ask that she make me new ones. Now, on these new keys they had my check-out date listed as the day before I was scheduled to check out. I went to call the main desk but the phone in the room completely didn't work. So when I called the front desk directly they didn't answer my question if my keys would work the next day and asked if they could call me back...guess who never got a call back. On top of things that night I had a friend staying in the same hotel whose room wasn't ready till past 5pm at night, way later than the 3pm check in. So the next morning, unsure if my keys would work that day, I went to the front desk and explained the problem and they re-programmed my keys. When I returned from my event earlier than expected that day I went to go into my room and now guess what, my newly re-programmed keys don't work. So I went back down to the front desk and had them do it again...they still didn't work again after the second re-programming. We found a maintenance man who opened the door for us, without wanting to see anything indicating it was our room, so apparently they'll open any room for anyone. To top everything off, I went to check out early and was told I couldn't get any refund for the night I wasn't staying, even though I was checking out before check-out time. They wouldn't even take me out of their system since "they won't get paid if they take me out," even though not paying for the second night was the whole point of me checking out a day before. The woman at the front desk treated me as if I was stupid and didn't understand, just wanting to re-explain everything to me multiple times. I was completely clear as to what she was explaining, but she refused to take me out of their system since Candlewood wouldn't get paid if she did. All in all the place itself looked nice, but the staff were some of the most unhelpful people I've dealt with and every step of my stay was unnecessarily painful. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

About 10 miles from Ft Rucker, outside the Dalevale gate. Great mattress nice and firm but not too firm, Linen white and crisp. Plenty of towels, kitchenette, w/ full sized fridge, electric stove, full size microwave. Internet is fast during the day but slows a bit as people use it more. Nice and quiet about 1/4 mile from main highway so no noise. Rates very reasonable, Nice pool and BBQ grills in the back under the gazebo with TV. Workers are very friendly and helpful, Lucy is a hoot.
