Our friends selected this hotel for a Mother's Day weekend getaway. The hotel staff was excellent and friendly. Check in was smooth and easy. Love the security of the elevators not having access from outside doors. You have to come through the the lobby only to access the elevators. The decor is simple and the rooms adequate. The smell of smoke, dogs, animals, etc.. was a bit overwhelming. Even if the room was clean, the smells in the hallways, carpet, made the place seemed dirty. Full kitchen with everything needed for extended stay. Customers who were working at local businesses had contracts for a period of time may stay here. Getaway?? This is not the place.

An "extended stay" vibe, not for a weekend getaway

This place felt/smelled more like a boarding house--lots of food smells in the hallways, cigarette smells in the stairwells, crying children, etc. I accept responsibility that I was an uninformed consumer of the Candlewood product, but want to fair warn others.

Comfy beds/worn cosmetically

The hotel is 30min to down town Savannah. It had comfortable beds and nice towels. It had typical wear for an extended stay place. Dents in doors and lots of repainted areas. Smells marijuana in the hall way. Stayed using rewards points otherwise would have stayed somewhere else.

Airline put us up here; flight was cancelled

This was not a suite hotel with pull out sofa which we needed; rather a long term stay place with kitchen. There's an odor when you enter lobby. First room had barking dog left in room so we switched rooms. Aromatic cooking fills the halls. I would choose any other hotel in area if you are stuck overnight due to cancelled flight. There's a Marriott nearby which would have been preferable. After a rough day with flight postponed 3 times , then cancelled would have been nice to have an updated room.

With many other hotel options nearby, including other IHG products, I would choose another next time we visit. Positives--staff was friendly (brought us an extra blanket in a timely manner), "suite" configuration with a small kitchen, comfortable chairs. Negatives--(1) not as clean as we would like--I lost a contact lens in the bathroom, and found how dirty the floor was. Kitchen items had to be washed by us to be clean enough to use. (2) Inadequate parking--the lot was tight, and we had a trailer which could not be accommodated and the staff had no ideas for us. The Staybridge Suites next door saved us by allowing us to park there. (3) Smell of smoke in the corridor of what was supposed to be a smoke free area. (4) We turned on the heat and immediately the smoke alarm came on--smelled like a dead animal was in the unit. I would definitely look elsewhere, particularly the Staybridge Suites or one of the Marriott properties nearby.
