What People are saying

This spot is beautiful!

Jennifer Won 14/07/2017 21:38

We were in the hotel section of this resort. Wish we had been in a conestoga wagon or tee-pee (they looked like more fun) but it was just the two of us. The room was clean, new and everything worked. The pool was crowded but nice....especially the view. The swing in the back provided an enjoyable hour with a beautiful view of the sunset against the hills. We had the breakfast buffet which was good and reasonably priced.

Amazing place!

I stayed at this hotel with my family of 5. We got a two room cabin. It was just beautiful and comfortable. The hotel is so charming and beautiful , the views are amazing and service is pretty good. Our cabin was just perfect , with a porch with chairs were we sat to see the sunset with the amazing view of Capitol reef . Service was pretty nice too, Brody took care of us and he was so respectful and helpful.
We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious. After dinner we sat by the fire outside drinking wine by the tepees , it was just a magical experience. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, I was sad to leave.
It is not a cheap place whatsoever, our cabin was pretty expensive but the experience made it all worth it.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, it's just wonderful.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

HotelguruBristolon 13/07/2017 15:08

From the unwelcoming and uncooperative receptionist when we tried to book in early (which has been mentioned in previous reviews) this stay went downhill rapidly due to the water issue mentioned by other reviewers. Whilst one can argue a damaged water main is not the hotel's fault how the hotel responds to the issue is. As the situation deteriorated rapidly from having to boil any water for drinking etc (what with?) to none available at all, information about the ongoing situation had to be rung out of reception. Small bottles of water were available (if you asked) and buckets of water for sanitary purposes (eventually) if you asked. For example it was the waitress in the on-site restaurant on the first night that informed us the water was going to be turned off completely, and no information was forthcoming that restaurants in the Torrey area had been closed down because of the water issue. Fortunately we were only stopping 2 nights so decided to stick it out for the second night by which time the full extent of the water problem had materialised rather than try and find alternative accommodation. However as we booked via a third party the hotel refused to negotiate a discount directly, eventually offering a derisory 10% off, although no doubt they will be claiming off their own insurers.

Forget the teepees!

jeanik2014on 13/07/2017 00:19

We had booked the teepee room because it would be unique. It sure was!!!! 300.00 plus dollars for a room without a bathroom! Very unhappy about that. I'm at the age that I cannot hike to a bathroom in the middle of the night. The staff was able to put us in another room for the same price but I felt it was a lot of money for a regular room.

Excellent Accommodations

Stayed at the Capitol Reef Resort for two nights while hiking in Capitol Reef National Park. The Resort is excellently maintained and our cabin was beyond what we excepted. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location could not be better for a visit to the National Park. The on site restaurant is great for breakfast before heading out with a nice buffet and selection of foods.
