The staff went beyond the call of duty to make sure we had a great stay.
Nothing was too much trouble.
Rooms were fab. Really comfy beds.
Couldn't rate it high enough.
The concierge lady was called Claudia and made our stay perfect.

Rose Don 15/08/2017 21:57We stayed for 3 nights and we enjoyed our staying! Very spacious room. The staff was very helpful and always at our disposal with suggestions for places to visit. Room had a free coffee station which was a pleasant surprise for us. Breakfast is a little bit expensive.
So glad we chose this hotel....
Diane Con 02/08/2017 16:38We stayed at the Hotel Carlton for five nights in July. The hotel is five minutes from the train station, which was very convenient, as we used the trains several times. The tram runs nearby and we were given tram cards (we only paid for what we used), which simplified the process. The breakfast, as has been noted in other reviews, is wonderful. The fruit, the cheeses and meats, the breads, the pastries, the eggs to order, and the fresh-squeezed orange juice are all exceptional and well worth the extra Euros. There was no air conditioning, but we did have a large fan in the room, which was sufficient. Brothers Jeffrey and Steven own the hotel and are quick to help and fun to talk with. Our goodbyes to them were heartfelt for sure. If we were ever in Ghent again, this would definitely be our choice of hotels; we would recommend it to anyone.

walters602016on 10/07/2017 18:27The Carlton is an excellent hotel, great rooms, lovely breakfast, very friendly and helpful owners and breakfast staff. Nothing was too much trouble and we were given many recommendations of places to go and things to see and provided with maps and an umbrella too! The hotel is in walking distance of the centre of Gent and near a tram route too. We will certainly recommend the Carlton to our friends.

Tom Mon 10/07/2017 08:02Outstanding hotel that makes you feel at home while you stay in Ghent. The brothers Jeffery and Steven and their staff are so very open and welcoming. They add so many personal touches like the welcome you get when you check in where they go over all the local sights and the breakfast each morning was excellent. Not your typical hotel offering. Fresh eggs, local fruit and pastries was the perfect way to start the day.
Rooms are very large for a European hotel. No air conditioning for us Americans but we were here in July and survived just fine! Embrace the local culture😀. The location was great, 5 min walk from the train station and just down the street from citadel park and the museums. You can walk to city center (we did) which is about 30 min. The local tram stop is just a few min away if you would rather ride.
I can 100% recommend Hotel Carlton and if we come back to Belgium we will be here again.
