Rob Won 24/08/2017 21:32Very elegant, has something for everyone. My kids 6 and 10, loved the pool. My wife and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Did not do spa treatment but looked amazing. We parked in back garage. So easy and convenient.
A trip to observe elipse 2017
David Ron 24/08/2017 14:11I was suprised with the large size and facilities of the room. The bath room is large with double sink separated bath tub and shower. Their restaurant offers very good up scale southern cuisine. We had fillet mignon and pork tenderloin. Both broilled to right we asked. Both meat are good quality and flavor. Puried potato with pumpkin and broiled Brussels sprout were well done.

Lynne3855on 22/08/2017 13:40Loved, loved this hotel. Price was right, beautiful hotel, huge room, food amazing in restaurant, staff wonderful. I wish we could have stayed two nights. I was especially impressed at the size of the room and the bathroom. Room extremely clean. Great outside pool.
Overall great experience conveniently located next to ETSU
BirdieMeon 21/08/2017 05:45We wanted to stay closeby to ETSU and this fit the bill. The Carnegie Hotel is conveniently located across the street from the campus, and is centrally located to many areas that piqued our interest. There is plenty of parking at the hotel although sometimes during busy periods that includes parking behind the hotel in the parking garage, but it is still closeby.
The Carnegie Hotel itself is nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. Our stay included a certificate to dine at Wellington's, and we ate there a number of times. We enjoyed the meals, and the service was outstanding.
We took advantage of most of the amenities- we both enjoyed massages at the spa which was relaxing, however it wasn't that relaxing during my pedicure because that area is located just inside from the pool, which was full of children screaming during a large family reunion that occurs every year during early June (note to self). The gym was on the smaller side but they did have the usual equipment.
We stayed in a suite on the top floor in the back away from the road which had been recommended by other reviewers, however we still heard noise from the pool area which was okay because it was earlier in the day. We believe it's because the hotel is one part of a U-shaped building mass that allows noise from that area to travel up. I'd be hard pressed to think the windows are sound resistant. I'd still choose the back over the roadway side, and also request a room higher up to curtail some of the regular noise.
The room was nice, fairly clean, and had what we needed to be comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious, with a separate toilet area. We will definitely stay here again.
Overnight stay and spa treatment
Roger Son 20/08/2017 23:44The room we stayed in was large and very well furnished. We would have given the room 5 stars but the bed was too soft for our like. Check in was easy and the help desk was extremely nice.
The decor was furnished in upscale antiques. This is a great hotel to stay in for upscale non-chain hotels.
