Marli2405on 24/08/2017 00:03

Stayed here 8th -15th August 2 adults 1 child hotel extremely clean food nice yes there's a disco under hotel but doors shut you can't hear a thing we were on floor 6 wasn't so keen on drinks on plastic cups but just used a straw! Not enough sun beds but beach just over road Please ignore bad reviews and just go and enjoy yourselves

Stay away never will return

This hotel is disgusting we had our all inclusive at 12 on arrival and was man handled out of restaurant at 1 saying we were only allowed 1 meal that day even though all inclusive bar staff was pig vile shouting at kids for wasting tea staff completely rude telling us go away piss off whenever we had a complaint fighting outside every night due to night club and had bugs crawling over our beds and clothes not child friendly at all in fact should be adult only hotel not for families children crying every night at gone 3 am due to screaming and fighting all over hotel even trying our room doors would not return here even if free of charge vile place to stay

Avoid at all costs

Don't normally leave negative views as I believe you get what you pay for and sometimes we expect too much for our money. In the case of the Cartago Nova I can not begin to express my displeasure.
Rooms are basic ( ok ) but ours was full of offensive graffiti in the wardrobes, some dating back to 1997, mainly German and Spanish but still understandable. Air con worked, just but was unable to keep room cool, managed around 27 degrees most of the time, too warm for me too sleep properly. The walls must be so thin could hear conversations from two rooms away, furniture being moved and the waste /sewerage rattling through the pipes all day and night. You could hear the water every time a neighbour took a shower bouncing in the bath. Dated bathroom with poorly maintained fittings.
Food was plentiful albeit it a bit repetitive, main problem was it was barely warm, Even food brought out to replenish empty or low trays was not hot. Milk for cereals was sometimes warmer than the sausage, bacon and eggs. Occasionally had to queue for restaurant as unable to cope with number of diners.
From our point of view the worst aspect was size of pool and the surrounding facilities, I counted 46 sunbeds for a total of over 150 rooms or possibly around 500 guests. Never once managed to get a sunbed as people queueing up to 90 mins prior to pool area opening to secure a sunbed. All Inclusive provides you with local drinks but in small plastic ''glassess'' and a stupid card system. Spent more time queueing for drinks than sat down enjoying them.
I would advise you avoid this and the other H-Top hotels ( looked around a few of their 4* options and they were not much better) if possible there are many hotels nearby for only a little more that are far superior.

You get what you paid for

On arrival we discovered that the disco was playing full volume at 2am but we were on the higher floor so we were not affected too badly . The beds were awful , hard and lumpy . The room was clean and so was the bathroom . The shower was amazing , very powerful . The reception staff were not great - we dreaded trying to ask for help on something as it usually took a lot of explaining from our part. But to be fair they did try to help. The food was awful , the whole set up was really degrading .Constant queuing and herded like animals, i found this whole thing degrading . The food was always the wrong side of luke warm and was quite boring and a lot of the time inedible. But thats just my opinion . Ill agree with other comments about the restaurant manager - he was very ignorant and just pointed at things.Ill have nightmares for life about this dining hall. The bar staff were pretty much the same apart from one guy who had good english and a good attitude. The system for getting drinks in the 150ml plastic cups is just stupid . It was frustrating and everyone felt the same. If its all inclusive then you should not have to cue up to get 150ml of beer each time. The drinks themselves were so watered down that a child could prob drink them. The sun-loungers were always full but that was ok because we were on a couples holiday and the pool is really for families. On another good point the location was great , close to the beach and a walk in either direction brings you to pubs and restaurants .The noise in the Hotel was ridiculous- paper walls. You could hear someone next-door having a pee , it was like staying in a hostel but with thinner walls. The elevators make noise constantly , And can only fit 4 people , there are about 200 guests .Quite frustrating. All in all id advise to avoid the Hotel - Bottom line is that once you get there on an all inclusive you are stuck there and its not good. We made the most of the Hols though just ate bread and fruit in there in the mornings and headed elsewhere in the evenings.

The worst hotel I've ever been into

We have booked this hotel from muchoviaje.com for the low price. The photos from the web were amazing but sadly nothing to do with the reality. The building is old and not very clean there are even cobwebs here and there and the food is awful. in the end very disappointed with the booking. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all.
