Lazy and rude staff made for a terrible experience,
Sameer Ron 25/08/2017 13:40We decided to visit Goa for 4 days earlier this week, though we had a great holiday, we made the unfortunate decision to stay at Casa Anjuna.
When we got to the Hotel's reception we showed our confirmation voucher to Mr. Manoj. We were shown a room that was great but for the strong musty smell - like it had not been lived-in in a while. We were reluctantly shown 3 more rooms that smelt simply awful and we rejected all of them.
We finally chose a beautiful room in a separate wing that we were really happy with. We were having a good time at the property even though the other guests around us seemed quite unhappy with their stay. We heard frequent complaints that the ACs and fans in various rooms were not working well. We noticed that there were frequent power-cuts at the property but otherwise we felt we lucked out.
Things started taking a turn for the worse on the 3rd day of our stay. Manoj, the manager in charge of bookings, told us that he hadn't got a booking confirmation or voucher from Yatra. (Something he neglected to mention during our check-in) We helped him out by sending our confirmation voucher which contained our booking reference number and asked him to call the Yatra toll-free number to sort it out with them directly.
The next day was the last day of our stay and we were arranging for a cab to the airport at the reception when Manoj asked us again to call Yatra and have them send the hotel the confirmation voucher. Again, we explained to him that it's a simple problem that can fixed with a phone call to the toll-free number, we even showed Manoj the entry in our bank-statement where we had been charged for our stay. We were confused why Manoj was trying to involve us in this situation.
We wanted to take a short nap before checking out when one of the staff started banging incessantly on our door. They handed us a phone and said it was someone from the head office of Casa Boutique Hotels. The man from the head office threatened that they wouldn't allow us to check out if we didn't call Yatra ourselves or alternately, repay for the 4 night stay at the reception.
We decided to call Yatra ourselves just to get it over with, the executive immediately confirmed our booking and payment. He expressed surprise that the Hotel let us check-in without receiving a confirmation voucher. Within 5 minutes of placing the call, the hotel had received the voucher on their e-mail.
We want to point out to the unprofessionalism of Mr. Manoj, it's nothing short of a miracle that he has managed to gain employment in the hospitality industry . Especially shocking is the thuggish attitude of the executive who called from the head office of Casa Boutique hotel.
It's a beautiful property but I wouldn't recommend this place to someone I disliked immensely.
A beautiful property with a vintage touch
Guneet Kon 17/07/2017 11:32This is a beautiful property. Whoever did the interiors, put a great thought into designing this place. Every corner is done in beautiful pastel patterns. The rooms are spacious clean and cozy. The staff is extremely hospitable and helpful. This is a small boutique property. We checked in post-midnight but the staff was there to assist us. The whole place was so beautiful when the rains came. The pastel colors just lit up the whole place. I would highly recommend Casa Anjuna
Decent clean hotel with clean and spacious rooms
Priti Gon 27/06/2017 13:49This hotel has traditional architecture. The rooms are spacious and clean. There is no wifi in the rooms. It's in common areas only. The staff here is very helpful. The breakfast is good too. The location of the hotel is convenient too.
Does not even deserve a review
RMJ1968on 31/05/2017 19:22Firstly this is a guesthouse and not a hotel .
There is no room service and no restaurant
There is no person sitting at the reception most of the time .
The air conditioning is so bad that it's like it doesn't exist ,,,
Bathrooms ,,,well u can compare it to dorms .
The suites are on the 3rd floor and you have to climb 3 floors after paying so much
The pool is probably cleaned once in 2 years .
The 4 staff which exist in the whole premises tried to help with whatever but poor guys could not do much
For the price of Rs.5500/- I could have found something like a decent HOTEL
Casa Anjuna – A Beautiful Property in Anjuna
theknotstory Bon 29/05/2017 12:35At a distance of 5 minutes from the beach in the heart of Anjuna lies Casa Anjuna, a bit away from the main road and easy visibility. A beautiful boutique villa which depicts the Portuguese style and art in every manner. The villa looks beautiful the way it is built and the interiors have a rustic feel with the vintage furniture and setup. We fell in love with the property then and there itself. Anjuna has one of the beautiful beaches and the places most sought by foreigners and the younger crowd for the beach and shacks around.
Casa Boutique hotels have different types of room options including some beautiful suites and independent villa. we stayed in the one in the ground floor. This property shows the Portuguese heritage of Goa in every possible way, from the vintage furniture to classy interiors to the bright wall paintings, it's all Portuguese touch.
As we did not specifically ask for any kind of room we got a room on the ground floor which the manager told is the favorite room. It was a spacious room with a vintage feel of course. Our room had a beautiful balcony where we spent time sipping our morning tea. The balcony had few chairs and a tea table along with an old style leaning chair where you can just sit and read sipping your coffee. If you ask me about privacy, there is no privacy if you open the door to the balcony as it's the ground floor and you'll see people walking outside. You can choose rooms on the first floor or rooms facing pool if you need privacy.
There was a changing area attached with the washroom which I felt was very thoughtfully made. The room cost us approximate 4500INR/day inclusive of taxes. This charge was including breakfast. They have a pool facing breakfast area which itself is the best place to spend your mornings. But the there is nothing commendable about the breakfast served. It was not a buffet breakfast served. You can place your order and they will provide you the best available items. Bread, eggs, fruits and fruit juices are however common every day along with each day's special item. We had to wait for quite some time for our breakfast to be served.
As that was our breakfast scene we did not take a chance to try out other meals in Casa Anjuna. However, the restaurant options here vary from Goan cuisine to western, continental, North Indian, Mughlai etc.
They have a well maintained and decently large pool. There were options to play cards, pool/Snooker near breakfast area.
The staff were all well mannered and helpful and we were guided well when they saw us clicking pics for the review.
Every room is unique with the way interiors are done and that gives you a special feeling. If you want to opt for suites you can choose rooms on the first floor which are set up in different themes.
We fell in love with the vintage charm of Casa Anjuna and we are very happy that we choose this beautiful property in Anjuna. If you are looking for a silent place to sit read and relax Casa Anjuna is what you are looking for.
Our stay here was a good experience other than the food which was average. This is a beautiful property and is one of the best stay options in Anjuna. Main hangouts like Cafe Lilliput, Curlies etc are at 7 mnts distance if you hire a bike.
Reaching there:
From Airport you can hire a taxi for Anjuna and after you pass Anjuna junction 200mts ahead you will see Oasis cafe on the right and a road opposite to it. Take that road and you will see Casa Anjuna board. ( We had a hard time finding the hotel after reaching Anjuna as it was not correctly located on google maps.)
