A quiet charming spot not far from the centre
Armando Don 29/06/2017 21:06My wife and I spent one day/one night in Catania last April. Casa Barbero was the perfect place to stay, we loved the courtyard and the room. Antonio gave us a number of tips re things to do, a city map and even indications on how to go around by underground (yes, there is one in Catania) so that we managed to pack our 24 hours in Catania with as much as you can think. Very good breakfast too.
Charme, Style and Gentility
Nancy Fon 27/05/2017 17:14My husband and I stayed at Casa Barbero on the last night of a two-week tour of Sicily. Upon entering the courtyard of the house, we felt as though we had entered a beautiful, secret enclave in the time-worn old center of Catania.
Our host, Antonio, is the embodiment of a gentleman as is his son Matteo. We received a welcome worthy of friends visiting from afar. Our room had been remodeled with the utmost attention to convenience for guests, with ample shelf space, lighting, a low table for luggage. The bathroom was beautiful and had been equally planned for the comfort and convenience of guests. My husband and I were especially delighted by the creative decor in every room, nook and cranny of the B&B.
This was particularly true of the dining room where we had a generous breakfast of pastries and fruit. I only dish we visited Catania more often in order to visit Casa Barbero again and again! Thank you, Antonio!
Very nice accomodation
guysaffretton 10/03/2017 10:29Perfectly converted and very welcoming...a room view to the garden provides a relaxing artmosphere while the gentle staff compliments the stay.Centrally located within walking distance to the main street. Definitely one to consider for a stay over in Catania.
A Green Haven

I really loved this B&B. It is hidden away from the busy centre but it’s not too far to walk at the end of a night out. The owner was friendly and helpful and the place has a really, personal, relaxed feel to it. Our room still had the character of the old building with beautiful old tiles and stucco decoration and the bathroom was sensitively designed to fit in and was high quality. The other parts of the building we saw (the breakfast room etc.) also have beautiful decoration so I assume the other rooms are as interesting. Best of all though is the courtyard garden which is so festooned with plants it feels like a jungle clearing, all be it one with tables and chairs. A really lovely place to relax at the end of the day, away from the city and the sun.
