A very impresive property around an area that you lease expected, cover by other properties of lesser quality, this is a top off the line, 5 star property for sure, the rooms, the staff, the detals and more. The level of details and top of the line standars.
The griunds are well mantaine and more. The pool in the roof, what it view.

Perfect in every regard...service, staff, interior/exterior....a 5 star property all the way. Personal service, just 50 rooms, makes for a tailored experience. The staff was attentive and aware of who you are. They ensure all your needs were met and anticipated your wants. Just excellent.

My wife and I spent a weekend at Casa Colonial Beach & Spa this past weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary, what a lovely surprise was to Us this great small hotel.
From the moment we arrived we felt in love with this place, the reception was excelent and gave us an upgrade to an ocean view room with complimentary spa service.
The room was just the way we like it, clean and very well appointed, excelent bathroom, a living room and a nice balcony facing the ocean.
What we really liked was the very attentive service we received from the hotel personnel, very nice and friendly.
We enjoyed the peace and quietness of the place, the pool on the 3rd floor with 4 jacuzzies facing the beach.
The service we received at the Spa was outstanding and will recommend it highly.
Enjoyed the breakfast, lunch at the restaurant on the beach and we had excellent dinners at Lucia"s Restaurant.
We liked it so much we are already planning our next visit later this year.

To be honest with you, I hadn't been in the northern coast of the Dominican Republic for a long time. Both Puerto Plata and Sosua had fallen on hard times as tourist destinations. So, when my wife told me that we were going to Casa Colonial in Playa Dorada, Puerto Plata, I was a little bit skeptical. More so when I drove into the Playa Dorada hotel complex, a place still encrusted in the far reaches of my mind as engulfed in decay, low quality cuisine, and beach full of sellers peddling from massage to hair braids Bo Derek style.
The road to the hotel was unassuming and narrow, which arose my fears even more. But what a surprise, the hotel front had an air if quiet dignity and elegance. The lobby was homely and the reception service was courteous and efficient. Rooms, mine had a great view to the bay, were ample in a clean colonial style. The breakfasts were great and abundant, I particularly loved the Dominican breakfast with mashed plantain, fried salchichon(look for it in the dictionary) and eggs.
The restaurant, Lucia, with a great view to a luscious patio, with the flora and fauna of the region. Good food, try the chivo and Chilean sea bass.
The service is first class.
And, no noise.
Great place to spend a vacation.

My friend and I were traveling around the Dominican Republic and decided to stop in here on a whim after her aunt offered her two nights at a resort as a birthday present. My god, I'm glad we did. I've never stayed in more luxurious accommodations in my life. From the moment we got there, when the man at check-in asked us if we wanted champagne or fruit juice, from the moment we left and the incredibly kind restaurant staff packed us a lunch, we felt like every single need was taken care of. Our room was tastefully decorated, looked out on a serene oceanfront view, and always smelled good because of the incense housekeeping burns in there every day. We each visited the spa and were wowed by the service we got there (we made sure to spend some time lounging in the steam rooms afterwords and hitting the high-quality gym as well!). Every single meal we ate was top-notch, with top-notch service to go along with it. Our final morning, the staff even set up a table on the beach so that we could eat as the sun lit up the ocean.
If I ever have a honeymoon, I want it to be here. My friend and I joked that we must have accidentally gotten married and were on our honeymoon without knowing it because our stay was so luxurious. Amazing in every way.
