Like sleeping at a bric-à-brac store

Hotel stuffed with bric-à-brac/antiques to sell. Our room was small enough, should be free of clutter. The mattress very uncomfortable. We ended both in the middle of the bed. TV the size of my tablet. Bathroom ok, but rattling door. Open and closing bedroom door was difficult. Regular breakfast in a tiny room.
Perfect location in the centre of old town Viseu, but no parking.
I do not plan to return.

This a part of luxury small hotels of the world and markets itself as such and it certainly has style and some beautiful objects around. Also the quality of the bed linen is excellent. My only criticism really is that it lets itself down with some odd things that I forgive in other small hotels which don't aspire to be a luxury hotel such as the shower base and tiling are in need of attention and the toilet brush holder needs throwing out. This is why I'm giving a very good rather than the excellent it deserves for it's staff and position in Viseu.

Very beautiful house belonging to an antiquary (located at the ground floor) who uses the hotel to display a part of its collection. Bizarre as it is, you can buy, literally, everything. Great service with very sympathetic personnel. Sleeping might be difficult if you're a light sleeper. The hotel faces the main square of the city where you have animation until late in the night. Get your advice from the reception to choose a silent room.

Should not use Personal Details from Passports for Marketing Purposes!

We really enjoyed our stay here . Room was enormous with richly decorated high ceiling and two balconies from which we could look out over the Cathedral. Very comfortable bed. Had to be a little cautious not to break any of the antiques dotted around the room, don't take your children! Breakfast was very good and they remembered that one of us was coeliac and provided gluten-free bread and cake. Staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. However we did not like personal details (birthday) from passports to be used for marketing purposes. We did not give permission and it is very annoying. If not for this, we would have rated Casa da Se as excellent in every way.

Great hotel and location

We loved staying at this hotel! Our room was on the first floor on the front of the hotel and we worried needlessly about noise on the Friday night we stayed there. The building is old and is filled with vintage furnishings which creates an environment totally unique compared to other hotels in this price range. Breakfast was very good with fresh-squeezed orange juice, a variety of local cakes and breads and meats and cheeses. Highly recommend and would stay there again. Parking is free in a city lot a 2-3 minute walk away.
