Full on luxury!
CharmyArmy62on 01/04/2017 18:44Sophistication with a warm breeze and spectacular views - loved the food (though the staff must learn that guests generally don't want a party atmosphere at breakfast) and the overall vibe of the place was chic and modern. A European style venue in the heart of Africa. Sadly wifi doesn't reach as far as far Room 14, so beware if you're addicted to the net.......
Great hotel
Céline Con 13/02/2017 15:45Very clean, very nice rooms, lovely views both from the rooms and from the outside pool/restaurant area.
Very close to the cathedral and the centre of town.
Welcoming staff, good breakfasts and light bar menu.
lazing by their pool
JaneFloodon 03/02/2017 16:15you hav choice of two views - both equally stunning
I spent a New Year there - just fabo - Inhambane fascinating old town too. Missed museum as holiday n closed - but hear it is nice.
Old Captain's house - then a tea room / ice cream spot - refurbished by well know architect Forjaz about 8 years ago - dining room smart and unfussy décor.
Total Disappointment
814hanneslon 12/01/2017 08:18Upon arrival at the airport, we realised that the hotel had forgotten to collect us from the airport. We never received any real apology or reason for this, other than it being a communication error. We did confirm our arrival with the hotel the day before.
Our overall stay was disappointing. The food was mediocre, breakfast was bland. The amount of food prepared for the morning breakfast buffet was not enough to feed all guests. First comes, first serves. The chef is also yet to learn how to prepare a medium egg. There was daily limitations with food availability on the menu. Not all waiters were English speaking. It was a normal occurrence to wait 1.5hours for your food to arrive
The TV channels are limited, we experienced constant power dips. We had to constantly request for reception to reset the TV Channels after electricity was restored. Wi-Fi reception was non-existent.
Location of the hotel is not ideal for holiday purposes. We had to take a taxi to Tofo and Barra on a daily basis. The hotel is boring. Nothing special was done on Christmas day.
The mini bar was only restocked once during our 10 day stay with the hotel. Expense slips was added to our account for payment which was not incurred by us. (i.e. cigarettes was added to our bill, yet we are non-smokers). They also billed us each day for the missing stock in the mini bar, yet the mini bar was never replenished.
Some of the staff was very friendly, the hotel has a great view and the room was very comfortable. We chose this hotel based on the recommendations made by Bookings.com, which I feel was misleading and inaccurate. Our overall experience was very disappointing. I won’t recommend this hotel to anyone. You don’t get your money’s worth.
Stunning architecture; very comfortable and pleasant hotel
Dimitri Pon 11/01/2017 16:14Lean and modern renovation of a nice old colonial building. Bright, large, super clean and nicely decorated rooms; very pleasant staff; functionning wifi; and exceptional location overseeing Inhambane's bay. We had to leave very early, before breakfast started at 7:00 and they kindly prepared baskets for us.
Excellent stay.
