What People are saying

Immaculately clean & comfortable

Mike Eon 03/08/2017 13:32

Very well located for two excellent restaurants.... A nice quiet location with Piazza Maggiore just a 10 minute walk away.. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable with really good quality linen. Perfect for a short stay. If you don't know the area, do go with Gianluca's recommendations for restaurants as they made with integrity and you will be assured of a good dining experience.

Taxi issue aside, it is average

H Fon 02/06/2017 01:08

My partner was the one who wrote the previous review and the property responded in a very sarcastic way. I agree they are not a taxi company and it is not their problem - if that's your expectations with the host in a city you have never been before. They seem to miss the point that you provide all the maps and help to your customers but failed to mention when he saw us Saturday night regarding no taxis on Sunday morning in the city? even though he asked us if we need a taxi as soon as he saw us Sunday morning and immediately said it will be very difficult - that information would be very useful 12 hours ago!
The place is located south of the city and all in all, very basic from offering to service. By the way, no hot water is allowed in the room. Having said all this, Bologna is absolutely amazing, must visit.

Yes ok but... oh hell!!

It's just a few little things that
Annoyed me but first some good bits:
- My partner and I stayed in a small but very clean room.
- The owners are very amiable and even helped carry our cases up the stairs.
- the spaces are tight but well utilized
- location is good, easy to walk to the centre of town
- the bed is big....
- there's a tv with 1 English speaking channel

The not so good:
- there's no parking if you have a car that's anywhere close (a bit closer if you pay)
- there's no phone in the room
- there's no kettle or tea/coffee in the room
-there was no shower cap for my partner
- there's no fan in the bathroom
- the bed is a bit hard and curved, ie.it's contoured by everyone else's body lying on it...
- the breakfast has the cheapest pastries & breads known to any human attempting a breakfast
- And last of all, the killer punch for me: we left on Sunday morning. We spoke with the owners the night before and they prepared our breakfast Sunday morning & sat at reception while we ate - all good so far, right? With 45mins to our train departing for Rome we paid our bill and then asked for a taxi (we are 15mins away to the train station). Oh sorry, not many taxis on Sunday. Oh sorry, no uber in bologna! After calling 3-4 times, couldn't get a confirm to pick up. Sorry sir, I can't help you. It's now30 mins to our train departs. We run for the bus with our 2 large suitcases !!

In my opinion, I feel it was their obligation or responsibility in servicing their customers and informing them of the unique transport situation in bologna on a Sunday morning. They were idling sitting next to us while we ate our breakfast and didn't mention it...with more time we could have planned to catch an earlier bus. They even spoke with us the night before & not even a blip of info on that critical point! I mean we had booked tickets on a connecting train to Rome!!

Without this last point, a 3 rating from me.

This must occur every Sunday morning throughout bologna to unsuspecting foreigners trying to leave town without their own car!! Surely, this is bordering on negligence in my opinion. I mean it nearly ruined my vacation. We were literally stuck on the road with no means of getting to the central train station.

Btw, we arrived at the station via bus #30 at 1002, the train was scheduled for departure at 1003. We ran! Platform #7. On p7 at 1005 the train was delayed by 10mins. It Arrived at 1013. We had time to spare!

Great base for exploring the city

Willow25on 10/10/2016 22:04

Lovely comfortable, spotlessly clean B&B in a great location for exploring this beautiful city. On check in, we were given a map of the city which identified some good local restaurants where we ate each night which was really helpful - can particularly recommend Il Tarli for delicious pizza and pasta. Just a very relaxed, homely place to come back to each evening after a day exploring. Thank you!

Well located, well priced B&B

Montrosaon 19/05/2016 16:53

A lovely little B&B (5 rooms). Nicely furnished, clean with good shower room. We had the red room on first floor which is fine. Our friends were in the blue next door which was slightly bigger. Standard Italian breakfast, fresh croissants on one of the mornings were welcome. Owners are very friendly and helpful. They are not always on the premises but will arrange to meet when you want and are a few minutes away if you need to call them. They were happy for us to leave our bags and arranged to meet us back there mid-afternoon, after we'd checked out, to pick up our bags and called a taxi for us. South of the town in a small, quiet street, but a pleasant, easy walk to centre. There are also some good bars and restaurants very nearby (I'd recommend Trattoria Trebbi, Via Solferino). Good wifi and good value for money.
