A quaint hidden gem in the one of the busiest parts of Goa

This was a very different stay from the conventional hotels. In the middle of busy Calangute, lies this heritage portugese cottage, which has now been converted to a hotel.
The staff is friendly and helpful and will help you get acquainted with the nearby bike contractors and restaurants.
The USP of this cottage is its Location and the traditional architecture/ interior design.
- Being in Calangute, nothing is too far away (a bike ride of a few minutes, to the beach and lots of shacks and bakeries); but at the same time its not on the main road and is hidden in the by-lanes, which makes it very quite and peaceful.
- The architecture and interior design is very different from a hotel. The owners have retained the original Portuguese floor tiles (amazingly beautiful) and the four poster beds and furniture. The bathrooms have been rebuilt and are modern, clean and decent. Even though there is nothing 'Luxurious' about this place, the heritage feel more than makes up for this beautiful cottage that once must be a great house with large rooms, airy veranda and an in house reading space and even a fish pond.

Secure and traditional Portuguese style hotel in a very quiet and peaceful location. An oasis in an otherwise very busy North Goa! The pool is clean and the gardens are peaceful and relaxing. Staff are very friendly and polite. 5 minute walk to the beach.

The rooms are traditional, comfy and cleaned well everyday. Out of 7 hotels that we stayed in on our trip to India - this was by far the best and exceeded our expectations especially for the price. They also upgraded us to a deluxe room for free which was really nice.

The wifi connection was great (though you can't get it around the pool) and the complimentary newspaper everyday is a lovely touch. Brilliant hotel, wouldn't hesitate to go back. Wish that we would have stayed there longer with hindsight!

Lovely ambience.... Wonderful staff.... Awesome location.... Full of vibrant energy and a complete package is what this gem of a boutique hotel has to offer..... The list could go on and on but we have just splendid memories of this property with us... Except for the power failure in Goa most of the time .. The hotel has everything a leisure traveller could look for in when he/she is on a vacation... The essence beauty of this property is what pulled us and trust me we will definitely be going there soon.... Not to forget... Vaibhavi... Altaf ... Bhaskar and Mr Johnson.... They are the real pillars of this property... Well done.... Thank you... MelStef

Amazing place!!

We stayed here for our anniversary. It is a beautiful place with a very rustic and vintage decor. The rooms, facilities, staff everything was superb. Beach is at a walking distance as well as many amazing live music restaurants in a nearby street called hidden street. Staff was very helpful in whatever needs we have. The pool was clean. Breakfast was okayish and not so great though. Other than that loved the place!

Superb hotel - Traditional Portuguese House

I was the only guest staying here as it was essentially the end of the tourist season. However, the staff looked after me well and even kept the bar open for me. The hotel is impressive, it is a large old colonial house and is set in very nice gardens (with outdoor bar). The location is a little of the beat and track but I hired a motorbike so no problem. In fact, it was no big deal to walk to the main road or beach anyway.

I would definitely consider staying here again and can recommend it. I did hear they don't allow families with young kids. Not sure if that's true but if so, it could be an issue for some families obviously and worth checking
