Great Experience, Nice even in Off season!
Sanparotaon 29/08/2017 07:51Visited in Aug'17 with 10 Adults n 8 Kids......Nice Hotel, great location close to beach little uphill, take a stroll at anytime... kitchen out door facing sea, best time to sit in night have drinks..family time and make noise. Best USP of this hotel as far my experience was with the lovely and friendly staff, served great food..service boy at night were very courteous and severed unconditionally.
2 Swimming pools are another USP of this place if you tired of beach wags then relax in the pool one is kids friendly and other one 5.5 feet.
Location wise also very close to Anjuna (10 mins scotty drive), Curlies, Close to Chapora fort are few locations.
Good restaurants around "Fatima's place", Salt n Pepper etc. Wine shop right at the gate but may due to off season mostly closed.
Few Suggestion to Management and improvement area:
- Maintain less chlorine content in their pools, we experienced very high feel of it over skin & eyes.
- Keep more ICE yes ICE cubes :) specially for late night parties.
- Introduce more variety in Breakfast menu, somehow feel options were very limited.
Great Experience, would recommend this if preferring location wise, serene n Boutique feel.
Unless you want to be ripped off, Do NOT stay here
Annette Mon 19/08/2017 23:52We had initially booked a 5 night stay at Casa Vagator because the photos of the accommodation were deceptively good online and it appeared to be in a decent location. After a day of catching flights and being stuck in traffic in sweaty cabs, we finally arrived at Casa Vagator in the evening and were keen to put down our luggage and check in. On arrival it was obvious that they had lost our booking, despite paying a 50% deposit of approximately $500AUD.
Since the room we thought we had booked had most likely been given to someone else (or didn't exist at all), we were shown multiple alternate villas. As there were 3 of us travelling together, we had specifically requested larger accommodation on the initial booking, but all that was left were 2 person rooms with a queen bed.
The rooms we were shown were unhygienic and clearly not made up for guests. The room we ended up staying in (which was the best of a string of duds) was infested with bull ants. The bathroom tub was filled with buckets and other maintenance supplies, being used as a storage ground and not prepared for guests.
When we requested a fold away bed, an attendant threw down a paper-thin roll-away on the filthy bedroom floor, that wasn't even thick enough to be used as a yoga mat. The 3 of us ended up cramming into the queen bed together, as no-one wanted to sleep on the floor.
We ended up staying one night, booked alternate accommodation elsewhere and checked out in the morning. When we asked for a refund for the remaining 4 nights we had paid a deposit for, we were given the run around and told the manager was coming. By the time we'd finished breakfast and waited in the foyer for a while, she was still a no-show. While we were disputing the fact we were entitled to a refund due to their negligence in losing our booking, we saw another family having a similar conversation with staff that the villa they were shown was not the one they booked online.
This place has the potential to be a great holiday destination. Unfortunately, it is run by unscrupulous money-hungry scammers who only want to rip travellers off. This ordeal happened back in April. It has been over 4 months now and we have not seen a single cent of the money that was owed to us, despite multiple emails and phone conversations that have been exchanged over the last few months. I have refrained from posting this review until now in good faith that the money rightfully owed to us would have been refunded by now. Unfortunately, this has not been the case.
Stay away from Casa Vagator and their deceitful management!
Semi luxury stay near the beach!
gdineshon 10/08/2017 06:24I went during offseason and the resort was deserted with very less number of guests. Rooms are OK. Pool was clean to use. The beach is very nearby from the restaurant which enables one to have a good walk down to the shores. Breakfast was good.
Excellent place. Caution with the billing
AvidTravellerSidon 29/07/2017 09:27The hotel was referred by a friend and was a first for all of us going there. The location is kind unique. You go through a narrow lane to reach it and the entrance gate may seem like a typical house but when you enter, it transforms into a beautiful creation by the architect and interior designer. The resort has a main area and an extended set of rooms down towards the rocky beach. Beach route is vide a small gate at one end of the property. Both sections of the hotel - old and new have a pool. The rooms are nice. Have a view of the pool generally but also the greens. Aircon as well as hot water geysers work absolutely fine. All rooms have a private sit out area, which considering that all are located in a cluster around the pool ( new wing or look out together towards the reception / pool / entrance ( old wing is not so private in nature, Food was generally OK. Breakfast is a Ala Carte order in from a limited menu. Did not see much crowd for the meals as most of the guest head out to check out the restaurant scene in North Goa. Careful regards your billing as we were booked by their central reservations and through some goofup, they were billing us for only 2 of the 3 nights. We had to tell them to charge for 3 and check with reservations later. Else someone would be paying out of their pocket or we would have been getting calls apologising for the error and requesting balance payment. This was an early morning check-out and glad we caught the error, It could have been a case of overcharging too. Local cab easily available though the same old high priced Goa cab scene awaits. So, negotiate!!! North Goa is far from the airport so plan arrival and departure accordingly. Goa airport, whilst renovated was still lacking in efficiently handling volumes. All in all, Goa as a destination is a must visit and though there are a lot of options in the city, Casa Vagator is a place to return too.
Not as expected
Ija Ion 27/07/2017 09:42The good: The ambiance, landscape and setting of the hotel is lovely. It is situated on top of the hill with a stunning view of the ocean. You can go down to the beach area which is a bit quiet. Our room opens up to a balcony surrounded by trees and greeneries which is nice and refreshing when you wake up in the morning.
The bad: The room lacked a few basic necessities - only a small pack of shampoo was given (so ladies with long hair, you will need to bring your own shampoo), there are no teaspoons for you to mix your tea/ coffee, no toilet rolls being provided during our first night. Yes sure we can ask for all these things but these are the basic things which should not have been overlooked. Breakfast could have been better. Cups and glasses were not very clean. Cockroaches in the room. There was a power cut every now and then.
