Relaxed accommodation
Victoria Oon 27/07/2017 14:08A warm welcome, organic produce, great food, a historic villa, pink sunsets, secure parking, a pool, events and trips if required - nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The marina is walking distance and the beautiful Bay di Ieranto 40 minute hike.
So different, so special
foodie16on 12/07/2017 15:41Our family hired two apartments for a week and had a wonderful time. It's hard to describe the atmosphere of this place. This is much, much more than just renting somewhere on Airbnb. The buildings have such character, the gardens and pool are lovely and the staff make you feel at home. Guglielmo puts such effort into this place, it is his passion. Rosa is delightful with a gentle, helpful manner. The food was always very good (though we would like to have been offered a choice sometimes; it does tend to be just put in front of you!). We arranged 2 boat trips with Nautica Bassa Mare on the beach at Marine Cantone which were absolutely fantastic and well worth it if Guglielmo and his team can't do it. To be honest it's a bit of a trek to the beach if you wan to go to the beach each day, but if you are more of a pool person, this place is perfect!
Fabulous Wine tasting dinner
OverNextHorizonon 09/07/2017 23:58This is a lovely out of the way hotel on top of a cliff over looking the Amalfi coast. It was a charming property with a pool area surrounded by lemon trees, terrace vegetable gardens and hen houses. Everywhere was a breath-taking view. We did not get to stay at this charming place, but had signed up for the wine tasting in the wine cellar. The write up said it would have a tasting of 4-6 wines, with appropriate accompaniments and only 12 people to maintain the charm of wine cellar and that it would be from about 6-9p.m. We arrived a little early and were immediately greeted my Guillermo, when confirming with him about what time we would need our driver to come back to pick us up, we were informed around 10:30! We went expecting small wine pouring & some local cheese tasting. This was 4-5 small course meal with wines & you could have more than your one poured serving of the wine. Guillermo and his staff put on the best evening wine tasting we have ever attended! It had the coziness of the cellar, Guillermo's charming energy, smiles & wine knowledge. Then fantastic local wines that he has chosen to explain and expose the group to, with a fantastic multi-course meal. We started with a Brut, which I thought the only Italian sparkling was the sweet Prosecco, but was wonderfully surprised to see that they make a lovely Brut style of sparkling wine. Then we move to 2 whites and 3 reds if memory serves me right. All the while with explanation of the grape type, where it was grown in the coastal area and the course to compliment its taste. Of course we had Italian music in the background and by the end of the evening, Guillermo had all 12 of us with unique Italian instruments playing, singing and dancing around the table. Fun was had by all of us. It was a perfect evening of new made friends, wine, food and watching the sunset over the water. So even if you are not staying at the out of the way charming Hotel, it is worth the time and effort to make a booking for the wine tasting dinner. You will not be disappointed and it will be one of the major highlights of your Amalfi coast trip that you will keep telling all your friends about the great fun, wine and food you had.
Wonderful relaxing week
Sarah Hon 25/05/2017 21:14We wanted to stay in an unspoilt italian village with amazing local food and wine and we found it here. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The wine tasting with food pairing was far superior to any of the Michelin starred evenings we have been to in the UK.
Absolutely Amazing!
370tonyson 16/05/2017 04:56Just finished a five night stay at Casale and I miss it already. The location was perfect, a quite town on the water near the Amalfi Coast, the beach, access to boats to Capri, etc. The location makes doing whatever you would like easy and within reach, all without being in the touristy parts of the Amalfi Coast. It is a slice of the real Italy. We stayed in La Rotonda, bigger than most one bedroom apartments and with a private balcony with beautiful views, it was perfect. The food was delicious and authentic and homemade and that made it even better. We ate dinner at Casale every night, we had no need to even think of trying another location the food and wine was that good. Guglielmo was a perfect host, he made us feel like family and treated is that way as did Rosa. I can honestly say I did feel like I was at home and not simply a guest the entire time we were at Casale. If you are looking for a great place to stay to experience the real and best Italy has to offer I highly recommend you stay at Casale. You will not be disappointed!
