We stayed there 3 nights. We had a cute garden with nice view. It's calm and relaxing at Casa do Pomar. Very nice and friendly hosts, Steve and Mónica picked us up at the supermarket and gave us lifts when needed. They gave good advices for treks and how to continue our trip by local bus around Madeira. Whenever needed we could ring a bell and one of both appeard, also just to chat a little. We also could give our laundry to wash. The house was clean and they cleaned it up every day. The house itself is cold but with air-condition it's possible to heat it up. Wifi was almost always working well. The location is perfect to start hikes. Also nice place for families. We would come back!!

Separate bungalows hotel

Our bungalow had a large living room with a kitchen, a bedroom and a terrace with a hammock. Breakfast is taken in the room or on the terrace, marmalade and cheese are in the fridge and fresh bread is served in a bag suspended at the outside door handle in the morning. A little humid at night, but there is heating and there are plenty of blankets. Different from the standard hotel; having the breakfast on the terrace was very nice.

We had a lovely stay at Casas de Pomar. Our host Monica went to great lengths to make us feel comfortable- from arranging a taxi to pick us up from the airport to offering to have our muddy clothes washed or us. I would strongly recommend it to anyone travelling to Santana.

We stayed at Casas do Pomar for 2 nights. We rented one of the 'apartments', which was a cute house with 2 floors, which included a living room/dining area, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a balcony with a view!

Very peaceful place, the staff had a lot of local advice for us, discounts to some local restaurants, and even organised an airport transport for us. Delicious breakfast was included in the rental (inclusive of homemade traditional bread delivered to our door every morning! The bread was literally still warm and delicious!).

The staff were so friendly and helpful. We got everything we needed, great help, great suggestions and great attitude.

Absolutely recommend for anyone to stay there for as long as you can!

Wonderful stay

Initially planned for a day, but in the end, we stayed for almost three days :-) the family, especially Ivo, was so kind and always up for a laugh. He even drove us to a place for hiking and in the evening gave us some home-made Poncha..nice!! Delicious breakfast and more than worth a stay :-)
