Charming ex-artists colony
Ron Mon 22/08/2017 02:08We had a wonderful stay in the Porter Casita. It had a full kitchen, sitting room, and private patio. It's all decorated in Southwestern style from the 30s-50s. Breakfast is a treat, cooked to order by the same cheerful person who takes your order. She is willing to share some culinary secrets, too. The staff is friendly, outgoing, and justifiably proud of their properties. We met old and new friends in the gardens, and chatted (quietly) into the night.
SUPER Friendly...
BethAdamon 09/08/2017 10:58I don't write reviews... However, as I am scouting for another hotel I realized how much I rely on reviews to pick my hotel. Family vacation with my SO and 13 & 14 year old boys. 12 day 2500 mile vacation. I specifically chose this amazing place due to the 2 bedrooms as we were halfway thru our vacation and needed our space. Let me tell you how shocked I was when they WALKED us to our room and gave us a tour. Come to find out it was not a room at all it was a HOUSE!!! Livingroom; dining room; kitchen 2 bedrooms an office, front and backdoor. It was amazing. It had the southwest decor that we wanted the boys to see. Every single person we encountered were above friendly, kind, nice and so accommodating.
They even took time out of their busy schedule to shiw us the other rooms as each one is different. We enjoyed this place so much we stayed another night and they again accommodated us.
The made to order breakfast was not only delicious, fast, but the cook...i can't recall her name is so personable and sweet. Gave us plenty of ideas of what to do with the boys!!
They have in the works of getting a pool but literally that is the only thing that I can say they need.
Thank you to everyone that works there and LeeAnn for taking time to talk with us and sharing your journey of renovations. You all are doing an amazing job!!!
If we ever go back to NM we will NOT stay anywhere else!!
Great place to experience a little taste of NM
Kole13on 06/08/2017 23:01These little casitas are a great way to experience old style architecture of 'old' NM. Adobe walls, little kitchenette, colorful mexican painted tiles and furniture and santillo tile floors. You feel like this little home is yours for your trip. The gated courtyard area is sweet and the custom breakfast, made to order is a nice touch. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!!!
"A glimpse of Old Albuquerque with Awesome Breakfasts"
Playaman47on 28/07/2017 04:34This property has it all together if you define that term by quaintness, proximity to restaurants, pleasant staff and really good custom-cooked breakfasts -- all priced fairly for the market.
We stayed twice over the course of a six-day trip to Northern New Mexico and I really enjoyed Casas de Suenos. I loved the outdoor decorations (mostly centered in a large, well-lit central outdoor courtyard) and I found the rooms to be very comfortable and tastefully decorated in a bold Southwestern motif..
I have only two minor complaints: (1) the floor of the first room we had (the Zuni) felt gritty all the time and (2) the bed in the second casita we had (the El Prado) was so high off the ground that one had to use a step stool to get onto it. Beyond those minor points, the place merits your consideration ... fairly priced, clean, great breakfasts included in the price, a historic/quaint property well-managed and well-maintained. I will return again...
Feels like home
JesperOlssonon 14/07/2017 05:14Great place to stay. Nice and friendly staff. A lovely green garden with places to sit outdoors. Good location next to the Old Town. The rooms are personally decorated with local artists. The cleaning was good. We wish we had more time to spend here
