Excellent value for money
Linzb81on 22/12/2013 11:37We stayed in this hotel because our friends live close by so it is handy for visiting them. The room was a decent standard and the breakfast was really good. Lots of fresh good and a wide choice for such a small hotel. For a hotel to stay in to visit Dusseldorf, it is out if the centre. When the underground station nearby is open (it is currently closed as work is being done on it), it is a short ride to the city centre and airport. However, I really like the 20 minute walk into the town by the Rhine, it is a lovely walk, so if you don't mind walking this is an excellent choice. The price of the room was also very reasonable, making it excellent value for money. The staff were also really friendly.
Good Hotel on a Budget
harrold ron 06/11/2013 16:29I stayed at this hotel for one night in October, 2013. At the time Octoberfest was just getting started and hotel venues were sold out. It was adequate for the price. I found it to be clean, though typically European in its size. Everything worked, if a bit old. The hotel is located downtown Dusseldorf and very near to several Asian eateries. A grocers is literally right next door, but it closes at 8pm!
Room Great , Parking Scary
Ellie8989on 12/10/2011 21:25Room spacious and comfy, staff not very friendly. Word of warning if using the car park it is essentially the hotel cellar citroen c3 picasso got in and out with only mm at either side. Otherwise fine. Breakfast typical
Good location, decent rooms
DetroitSunloveron 20/09/2011 18:55The Cascade Hotel is a small hotel in a good location. There is a U-Bahn station about 1 block away that is only 2 stops from the Altstadt and it is also on a streetcar line. It's only 1 -2 blocks away from an area with shops and restaurants, including the Fuchsen Brewery and Restaurant where you can sample tradional German food and Alt Bier. Also there are several discount stores/groceries nearby including Rewe, Edeka, and Aldi, in case you need to purchase last minute items or some snacks for your room. It's a short 5 minute walk to the Hofgarten, and not much farther to the Altstadt, only about 15 minutes at a fast pace. The rooms are small but furnished with newer, modern furniture. The bathroom was very small but appeared to be recently decorated with nice tile. The breakfast buffet, which was included with my room, was excellent - lots of sliced meats, cheeses, breads, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, juices, eggs, sausage, bacon, coffee. I don't know the cost of the room since I was on a business trip and the room was booked and paid for by the client. The desk staff was friendly and helpful with tips on sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. The hotel lost points for four reasons: The complimentary computer in the lobby never seemed to be working when I tried to access the Internet and the hotel staff on duty were not able to connect it for me. I don't travel with a laptop or iPhone, so this is an important amenity for me. The bath towels in the room are a good size, but very hard and rough, not plush. The bed was rather far from the TV and the remote only worked when I stood directly in front of the TV. Also, the hair dryer in my bathroom constantly overheated and turned off after only a minute or so of use.
Pleasant hotel
Maria Con 07/07/2006 05:30The Hotel Cascade is conveniently located near U Bhan. Is super clean, with friendly and very professional staff. Not much atmosphere around. Excellent breakfast. We were there during the world cup. Overprice.
