Good position

The studios were just what we wanted close to the small harbour..Room was of a decent size bed comfortable nice clean sheets and towels changed frequently,Balcony looking over the street and down to the see also you could see the castle and top of windmills at night all lit up it looked lovely . It had small kitchen with sufficient utencils to have light meal . Owner very friendly and helpful pick up and drop of at port. Thanks for a lovely stay

Value for money but nothing special

Viva Mare Studios are definitely a value for money choice. The prices are really reasonable, considering the location. However, the quality of the accommodation is below average. The room was not clean and tidy. We found a dirty bathroom and sink. The corridor in the first floor was always smelly. The double bed was extremely short so that we could not comfortably fit. Finally, as far as the view is concerned, we could only see the apartments across the street. We couldn't enjoy neither the see, nor the castle, as it was described. If you want a cheap choice and your expectations are low, give it a try.

Clean rooms providing all basis requisites

Basic spaceous rooms equipped with a kitchenette, a bathroom with a shower and a terrace. The matress was rather hard. The noise from the street in the early morning is audible, but didn't disturb us much. Our terrace (at the side of the street) had a view on the port and the castle on the top of the hill.
The rooms are located at the beach of Pera Gialos, at the foot of the hill that leads towards the main town of the island. The airport is at a 20 min drive, as is the main port of the island at Aghios Andreas. The owner of Vivamare Studios provides a shuttle service to and from the rooms. Although the island is never crowded, Pera Gialos is just a bit more peaceful than the main town while all accomodations are present. Plenty of shops and restaurants are found within a radius of 100m. 50m upwards the street in front of the rooms there is a very good bakery.
Car rental companies are at a distance of 20m from the hotel. At the port of the Pera Gialos, at a distance of 150m there are plenty parking spots.

Not for the noise sensitive

This is a great hotel, recently built, great generous rooms - great bathrooms etc. and VERY friendly staff.

But it's built directly on the main street with the first floor rooms pretty much at motorbike level. The rooms to the back in turn face on to a schoolyard - which may be quieter in high summer - no school - but not in May.

The problem really is that in such a location the balcony windows and doors should be sound-proofed - they are not.

Also the pictures on booking.com are "misleading" - the views to the harbour etc. are only available from the 2 top-floor corner rooms to the east.

Charming, traditional place. Simple but lovely with great views of the harbour. Ideally positioned for a trip to the castle. A plug in the bathroom might have been nice, but hey that's not the end of the world!
