Our wedding in Castello di Montignano , June 2017

Myself and my husband spent a lot of time searching for the perfect Italian wedding location. When we found the castello online, we knew it was the one. We immediately went about putting our deposit down ahead of seeing it in person as that's how taken we were with it.

When we went to the do the tasting it was the first time seeing the Castello in real life, and it doesn't disappoint. Even though it was the middle of winter, it was stunning.
While the castello and the hamlet is approx 1000 years old, with the beautiful rolling Umbrian hills surrounding it, it has been modernized with beautiful, stylish touches everywhere. We really had a great feeling the minute we arrived.

We rented the castello exclusively for 3 days and while it's expensive, it's worth it. To have that privacy and to really enjoy such important days with friends and families. They cater to different wedding sizes but ours was approx 140 guests. We also enjoyed another smaller party the following day with 3/4 of our guests attending a pool and pizza party which was great fun. They also helped us arrange welcome drinks the night before our wedding in a gorgeous wine bar in Todi the night before our wedding, which was a wonderful choice with a great selection of Italian wines.

We worked with the wedding coordinator as our official 'planner' (comes with an extra fee) Beatrice and she is brilliant. Young but very experienced with a strong fluency in english which is needed with all the wedding detail and planning. She is calm and easy to speak to which is very important. Weddings can be stressful and she is a nice person to have around.

The suppliers they have to hand are brilliant - and once you set your budget Beatrice can share with you price points and various styles to meet your needs. Every supplier we worked with didn't disappoint. I especially loved our DJ who totally took our brief completely on board.

What sets it aside from other venues is the standard of the food. It is really outstanding. Sourced locally in line with the seasons, the menu on the wedding day was out of this world. And as Italians like to enjoy their food, there were the usual courses as well as buffet before the dinner even started. Plenty for an Irish wedding party!

As we were foreigners arranging our wedding abroad what I will say is to of course incorporate your own traditional habits into the mix but embrace some of the ways the Italians do things as it makes it even more fun and special, and they have them down to a fine art.

Our wedding videos / pictures are being finalised as we speak and the feedback we had from friends / family has been incredible. More importantly my husband and I had the best time of our lives and cannot wait to already return to the Castello for our wedding anniversary in June 2018.

Thank you Guiseppe and Beatrice (and the rest of the staff such as the brilliant in house makeup artist Irene and the coolest bar staff who helped create the best party atmosphere ever) for making our special day a 3 day weekend we will never forget!

Beautifully decorated rooms - stunning views

Came here for a family wedding and wish I could have stayed longer! What a find! Even a hot spring beneath the hotel! The staff were fantastic. The rooms are just superbly furnished - the whole place is top quality and beautiful.

From the moment we drove upto the Castello for the 1st time we knew this was the place.... this setting is just perfect in the rolling hills of Umbria, the Castello is beautifully restored and nicely set in a little hamlet. Then the pool area and the views all around make you want to stay here for ever. Giuseppe and Claudia have really made this place into a perfect wedding venue, along with Beatrice and all the staff. Nothing is to much trouble and everyone is so polite and helpful. Life here is relaxed and its a great place to unwind. We had a 3 day package with the umbrian bbq the 1st night our actual wedding the 2nd day and a big meal in the Castello for our final night. So with all our family and friends with us for at least 3 days it made our wedding so much better as it felt like we had more time to mingle and enjoy the surroundings together. Our actual wedding day was beautifully set and organised by Claudia and what an amazing job she did, each one of our guests have said it is the best wedding they have ever been too. We have many fond memories a great video and amazing photos to cherish forever and will definitely be going back to this magical place whenever we can. Even travelling to the Castello to sample the wedding menu was a great experience due to their warm hospitality, the food and wine is amazing too. Were already looking to plan a anniversary reunion party there so we can go back with everyone for a weekend. If your thinking of getting married in Italy this place has to be it. Dream Wedding Vacation

We had never visited or seen the place before choosing Castello Di Montignano. The first time we saw the castello was at our actual wedding so we solely relied on their pictures, descriptions and reviews. Luckily we were pleasantly surprised and loved the castello. The place was even more beautiful in person than in pictures and videos. It was clean, beautifully decorated, charming with the perfect ambience for a romantic italian wedding! We had the pleasure to deal with Beatrice and I can confidently say that she is the reason our wedding was a success. She was extremely responsible, quick, informative and competent. Without her I would not necessarily have chosen the castello. She held our hand through the entire process of our wedding. From food to decorations she made sure all was according to our plans. I told her the look I wanted and she made it happen. We hosted 26 adults and 8 children for 5 days at the castello and our wedding went perfectly.

Thank you to Castello Di Montegnano, Beatrice who helped us from every step from booking the venue to the final execution. And Guiseppe who owns the castle and takes pride I. His guests enjoying every single moment of their stay. Our wedding was perfect and idilic in the mountainous lush greenery and endless views. We personally both exercise a lot and were never board to run the hills in our beautiful surroundings. Each and every one of our guests were overwhelmed with the beauty and character of the Castello, the amazing employees of Guiseppe, and attention to detail, our only fault was that our wedding day went far too quickly and we'd love to do it all over again. This is the castle of love and we love this place and all the staff too ...
