Ideal for luxury romantic getaways near Bilbao

The elegantly restored castle offers 13 rooms, of which six suites, one with its own private pool. The meals included in the romantic break were superb. Staff were generally friendly and very helpful. For winter visitors there is a delightful residents lounge and a courtyard terrace for summer. Reception is on the first floor but there is a lift from the dining room entrance.

Wonderful stay in dream-like castle

We had a wonderful time in this castle and the sizable room. Also enjoyed a few nice dinners in the hotel's restaurant with many local dishes and wines. The walk in the park at night was like a bit of a dream.

Unique luxurious experience

Located an hour from Bilbao - it's an entirely different world. The countryside of rolling green hills, farmsteads & the sea nearby makes this an ideal holiday destination. As you approach, the towers of the castle look grand & the warm welcome that awaits you makes you feel like royalty indeed. There is a lift & the rooms are in the main building while the suites are in the 4 separate towers. The rooms are spacious & luxuriously laid out. Unfortunately (or perhaps I should say fortunately), the bedside lamps of our room were not functioning & we were given an upgrade to the "honeymoon" suite on the 4 th (top) level of the main building. It was very grand & spacious. The bathroom was huge & had 2 sinks, separate bath & shower as well as a bidet. Breakfast is included & a decent range of breads, cold cuts, fruits. Overall service was fine although the evening shift crew (during the 2 days we stayed in June) were extra attentive & provided that little extra service that made you feel special.

Lots of places to explore nearby & returning to the castle after each expedition was really special. Definitely recommend this place for a special stay!

Serene tuscan magic

There are so many amazing looking properties in Tuscany, it took me months to choose. We were so happy here. The location was lovely. The pool, divine. The rooms, elegant and comfortable. Everything was perfect... we dream of it often.

Very romantic and special

Had two nights in this magnificent property. Had warm welcome by the staff and by the owner. Our room was up in the main castle, huge space with breathtaking view. Bed was very big, could be more comfortable. Especially it is on wood base and is moving when one of us is turning over. We would recommend to put a rug/ carpet underneath to stop the movement and to give the room bit more worm atmosphere. Never the less, the room is stunning with painted walls, huge bath and candlelights around it, but difficult to get in if you are not fit . The shower room is very big as well, all very clean.
All member of staff are so polite and helpful in all aspects. We had dinner twice in the restaurant, very impressing tasty food. Breakfast was reach and good. Location is highly recommended if you intent to visit Bilbao but not to stay in the big city. It is less than an hour outside Bilbao, and worth the drive.
No doubt that it was a special experience we will remember for long time.
