Great cheap hotel, ideal for NEC Birmingham.
arclight999on 27/08/2017 17:57This hotel is perfectly located to get to the nearby NEC.
We arrived in reception, and were efficiently booked in by the friendly duty manager.
The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We love that this hotel chain give you a choice of firm or soft pillows!
Our room was 50m from the M6 motorway, but the windows were so effective that we could barely hear the traffic.
We dined at the pub across the carpark, which does a fantastic range of meals and amazing desserts, so can't comment on the food available at the bar.
There was a wide variety of choice for breakfast the next morning, varying from cereal, toast, fruit, or a cooked breakfast (lovely thick bacon, cumberland sauasages, scrambled egg, and beans).
Checkout was painless with another cheerful member of staff.
A great hotel, which is definite value for money! Will recommend.
Disappointed
Steve Hon 16/08/2017 18:49Reception area clean and tidy, but they were under staffed as only one person was checking guests in and serving in the bar!
the room was small but clean, but my major gripe was the total lack of hot water!
I mentioned it to reception and tidy told me they'd see to it the next day as the maintenance man was off. . .
The next day came and went and still no hot water. . . .
I checked out after two nights having had cold showers
See my review of holiday inn Warsaw as to how it should be done!
Shame on you castle Bromwich

Second Visit
pipi201320132017on 06/06/2017 10:36I stayed here 2 years ago on a business trip and did not have time to explore the area.
The month of May 2017, which is a lovely time to travel, I came back with my wife for leisure. After a lapse of 2 years, i found the place to be very well maintained.
The rooms were clean and surrounding quiet. The bed was comfortable as before. The breakfast was sufficient. I like that the hotel had a ice vending machine.
There were many business travellers but yet the place didn't seem crowded.
You would realise that the hotel was pretty occupied but manageable only at breakfast time where the guests were having their meal before leaving for work.
It was easy to get to the hotel from the Birmingham Airport.
Take Bus 966 towards Erdington and alight at the busstop just outside the hotel on the slope. Takes about half an hour under normal traffic condition. Please tell the bus driver you need to alight at Holiday Inn Express Castle Bromwich otherwise you will find yourself at Castle Bromwich Gardens which is a quite a distance away.
The bus ride cost GBP2 instead of GBP15 to 25 for a taxi ride. Free parking on premise if you drive and stay.
We had a restful 5 days stay. It was easy exploring Birmingham city from the hotel by bus. The city map is available at the rack near the elevator. The restaurant Manor Farm, next to the hotel provided great food. As it closes at 11pm, there was no worries that you cannot get any food.
Within walking distance , you will find the Salisbury supermarket and other shops
Good location. Will recommend.
Excellent accommodation and good value for money
Sue Hon 04/06/2017 09:14This hotel has everything you could want and more for a low cost night. We paid £74 for 2 people which included a lovely buffet breakfast. Something for everyone and the offer to cook vegetarian sausages if you want them. Good selection of cereals, bread, fruit and a coffee machine I'd like to take home! The room was very comfortable with a choice of firm or soft pillows. Sound proofing excellent as you are very close to the M6 motorway and the flight path from Birmingham airport. We didn't hear a thing! The bathroom was nice, good shower and nice toiletries not your cheap old rubbish. Excellent free wifi. I would definitely stay in another one. I have read some negative reviews about the hotel but can't say that I agree with them. Good pub next door with extensive food offerings.
Wonderful Experience
Karen Don 04/06/2017 08:57My friend and I booked to stay here for one night as we were seeing Take That at the nearby Genting Arena.
Room was clean, comfy and air conditioned and although located near to the airport and motorway , no noise
Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and breakfast included in the room rate.
Breakfast is served buffet style with plenty of choice.
Would definitely stay here again.
