Castle Hill Lodge is situated in beautiful countryside south of Queenstown. It's a great spot to drive to Milford Sound from. Very warmly welcomed and shown to our very comfortable room with sparkling clean en suite. Guests also have the use of a lounge with TV, guide books and DVD's. Superb breakfast set us up for our days sightseeing! Mark and Sharon were happy to share their knowledge of the local area and I would recommend a stay at their lovely B/B

Sharon and Mark are wonderful hosts, providing cups of tea and great breakfasts and good advice on how we could make the most of our time in the south. We also enjoyed their conversation and company, especially over a delicious dinner cooked by Sharon. The room was spotless and equipped with everything we needed, and the guest sitting room was a bonus - a place where we could relax in comfort between trips out. We chose Castle Lodge because it gave easy access to Doubtful Sound and Te Anau and this worked superbly. It's also a great place from which to explore the South and the Catlins, though sadly we didn't have time to do this. All in all, a really lovely B and B run by two extremely nice people - highly recommended.

The lodge was recommended by Stu's fly fishing as I had booked 4 days fishing with him.
I was delighted that he did. Mark and Sharon were great hosts, nothing was too much trouble,my room was very comfortable and dinner with wine included each night was excellent.

As usual great moments in garston with sharon and mark. Contrary to usual impersonal places they will welcome you like one of their own. I go there every year when I go fishing the Mataura and I have never been disappointed.

We booked a room with 2 single beds for 2 nights and specified a reminder in my email couples of months before we arrive. Due to my work schedule, I cut short our stay to 1 night. We informed Sharon in advance and asked for a pack lunch since there is no refund for the extra night we've already booked and fully paid.
The room we booked is not what we were given. It's different from the photo and no 2 single beds.
The pack lunch was a salad burger and a muffin. No other choices. And it's tasteless.
We were also surprised that we were asked to leave at 1 pm by Mark despite the fact that we already paid for 2 nights and we are only staying for 1 night.
Not very professional compared to other accommodation we've stayed so far.
