My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights along with other members of my family. They looked after us very well. The food was very good, especially the fresh cooked breakfast.

On a summers day I recommend you have pre dinner drinks outside on the lovely terrace and garden.

We had a suite which was nice but not that large. It did have a sofa but to me it was more like a large room than a suite.

I recommend you drop your bags off ar reception before parking, as the car park is round the back and a long walk carrying bags.

This hotels is very unassuming from the outside, but does not let you down from the inside. with its mixture of old and new which has been done very well.
We had booked this hotel in advance as we were attending a family wedding, so we booked a large family meal of around 18 people the night before so the hotel set out a meal planner with a variety of dishes.
The food was fantastic and so were the staff, and not just the food but the staff were all excellent. Nothing was to much for them.
Our room was beautiful and extremely comfy, but if anything slightly to warm.
It wasn't the cheapest hotel and definitely not the most expensive either, but value for money was excellent as it included breakfast. Which i advise if you stay to try the Hereford cooked breakfast.
The grounds are lovely and the shops are a 5 minute walk through the cathedral grounds.
All in all a great hotel in a great location, i would definitely stay again.

CHARMING SMALL HOTEL

We stayed for 2 nights in a junior suite in the townhouse just a few yards from the main hotel building. The room had a small conservatory and opened on to a private garden.
All the staff were very welcoming & professional. The food was exceptionally good & we particularly enjoyed dinner outside in the lovely garden. On our second night we tried the 'tasting menu'. All courses were delicious but should come with a warning - only chose this option if you have a really big appetite! This is a fabulous small hotel in a great location & we hope to return again soon.

Absolutely superb!! This really is a little gem of a hotel! In the heart of Hereford and on the river it's a stunning location! We had the Charles 2nd suite and it was absolutely fabulous! Lovely Loccitane products in the rooms and the decor was incredible! The breakfasts are really excellent too! Highly recommend!

Very helpful reservation staff member when asked for a quiet room recommended the Orange Suite on the back of the hotel looking over the garden and moat. Checking in was easy and all staff very helpful throughout our whole stay ! The Suite was very comfortable and true to the recommendation was completely quiet despite being over the kitchen and store room areas ! The only drawback was the bed which even though was king size dipped in the middle so that in order to stop rolling together and kicking each other in the night we found ourselves clinging to the edge of the mattress. Not very conducive for good sleeping. A newer more solid mattress would have solved the problem !!
The catering in the restaurant was fantastic ! Excellent breakfasts especially if taken early before the dining room got too busy ! The Wedding reception was amazing ! Very well organised, delicious menu, and carried out exactly as my cousin had wished !!
Lovely setting opening onto the garden for all the guests to enjoy before and after the reception !!
