What People are saying

The Potential is there with the right staff... some rooms great some no so much

lucyj902017on 24/05/2017 04:44

After reading the reviews I really started to think this Hotel is paying for any good reviews they received. I mean it's a love it or hate it situation and I was very skeptical about coming to this hotel but once I stayed I can undterstsnd why people have mixed reviews about this place.

Let's start with the good :)
We arrived early and were able to check in. The room was awesome with s big window like wall between the bedroom & bathroom and even a sitting area with a tv to one side of the bedroom. A hot breakfast is offered and free wifi with good connection. We given some great recommendations on where to eat and shop in the area.

The no so good :l
1st day the young lady only took out the trash and put towels, she didn't even take the dirty ones out, make up the bed or replace the soaps. 2nd night the woman that cleaned our room I think her name was Tina did a better job. We saw her as we were leaving our room and asked if she would be the one cleaning our room that day. Sheets were changed, fresh towels and soaps provided, dirty towels taken but the trash wasn't taken out. 3rd night its as if we weren't even there the housekeeping staff didn't even clean our room, even after we asked the front desk to make sure it was done since we were going to some friends meet us at the hotel later. The lady at the desk at about 2pm said that the housekeepers had left for the day already. Had asked for clean towels and trash bags at the very least and were told she couldn't since she didn't have any but would have taken up. We never got any towels or trash bags taken up that night, we were upset and went down to the front desk that morning so we tell them what happened.

This is where I'm on the fence of things. When I went down that morning upset about the housekeeping not cleaning our room and front desk lady never taking us the towels we greeted by the same lady that allowed us to check in early with a " morning and how is everything today " I told her about the housekeeping and front desk she apologized and asked if was okay for the housekeeper to go up while we eating breakfast. I told her to go ahead and send housekeeping up, when we got back to the room everything was done nothing forgotten this time from the beds changed to the trash being taken out. About an hour after returning to our room the front desk lady even called the room to confirm everything was ok and apologized again at this point I have claimed down from last nights issue and asked what her name was Paula. We were able to stay in Austin more time and decided to extend our stay that evening told the front desk and we were told we needed to come back in the morning to recheck in but that the room would be held. When we went down that morning we were told our check out was for that day and that the evening lady never held the room for us and we had to move rooms. We didn't want to move since this was caused by them and now they say we need to move to a higher priced room. The lady then says she could take 20 off per night. What are you kidding me only 20 bucks off and the priced jumped 80. Went up to the room to have the TV not working and shower didn't want to turn off. We were told by the front desk that we may not know how to operate it correctly, I couldn't believe it we had been there for days in another room and were able to work it fine. The maintenance guy Ray said the shower handle had gotten loose but he was able to fix it quickly. As for the TV he said the head maintenance guy need to come since apparently they've already been having issues with the TV in that room. No one ever fixed the TV. We asked to speak to the manager when we were checking out for the second time and were told that we would need to leave our name and number and that she'll get back to us. We never received a phone call even after days from when we checked out so we called the hotel to speak with the manager come to find that the morning we checked out the lady working the desk was the manager and only works there a few days which why we couldn't get a hold of her. I told the front desk Sandy to have her call me whenever she arrives back to the hotel and yet nothing.

I had to call for the 3rd time, I spoke to Ms.Paula she tried to apologize and said that the front desk manager was off that day. I explained what happened to her and she asked me to hold while she spoke to the owner about the problems we had. The owner finally approved to offer us some kind of compansion.

The rooms themselves are okay depending on which one you get. The staff needs work from the housekeepers, front desk and their management staff. The only good were Ms.Paula , Mr. Ray , Ms.Gina the cook and Tina after speaking to a number of staff members. I honestly believe they need more training and maybe a new manager since they don't respond back to guest.

Modern nice hotel easy to get to and close to South Congress and Downtown Austin

Was a nice change from the chains. We had a separate sitting area from the bedroom which was cool. Bed was very comfortable. Nice large bathroom with separate shower which I liked. Modern styling through out. Breakfast was decent too. Even though right off I-35 it was secluded and quiet.

Zen Getaway

Stayed for 2 nights in a jacuzzi room and it was magical felt so authentic. The tubs were clean, room was clean smelled nice. they gave me stress relief bath foam soap, which I thought was amazing touch because, it was bed bath and bodyworks brand. I cant wait to visit and stay again so I can feel at peace.

Okay for the price

Stayed for a night and used a hotel discount booking app. Overall, the location is great because you can get just about anywhere quickly. I got the room at a pretty low rate and for that, I think it was well worth the price. I must agree that the hotel is in need of some renovations and for the record, they do seem to be expanding to another building, which I assume will be very nice! I would rate this a good value hotel if you can get it at a good price but don't go expecting a 5 star stay! I will also agree that they way overuse air fresheners and it is overpowering at times. Not amazing but not horrible! Good hotel for a fair price.

Absolutely Amazing!!!

My guy supprised me for our anniversary by booking this hotel for a 3 night stay. The vibe throughout the entire place was very pleasant. Liz the receptionist upfront greated us right when we walked in with a great attitude, and made getting our room key quick and easy. The ombionce throughout was like a journey to a place in Asia, it was super different and cool even in the room. The room was very clean, I could tell they take pride in the place and keep up with it. Another great feature was the bathroom...... The wall that separates the big garden tub and bedroom was glass going all the way to the ceiling. Bathroom also has a attached enormous shower which has two shower heads one big regular one and the other is a rainfall one. It was quite refreshing to have a complimentary hot buffet style breakfast every morning. Then going to relax in comfortable lounge chairs by the pool. During the day it was quick and easy to get around the downtown area. Great flair, all in all it was just fabulous. Most definitely planning on going back soon.
