What People are saying

Can't recommend enough!

We came to Playa de las Americas in July for some time away as a couple, looking for wind down time but also a good drinking atmosphere. The whole experience was great and made so much better by our fab hotel!

Quick access to room on arrival, our bags were held for us so that we could grab some tea before the service finished and were then shown to our room. Spacious, clean, gorgeous bathroom. Only down side was that we found the bathroom got super steamy very quickly and took ages to clear, making the surfaces and floor VERY slippery! Also bathroom door does not shut so there is a little lack of privacy but nothing major.

We were half board and can say that the food was consistently of amazing standard, different choices every night with so many options. Saved us loads of money and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal.

Location is great for nightlife if that's what you're after, the hotel itself doesn't look anywhere near as nice from the outside as it is when you get in! It's only round the corner from all the big clubs but far enough away that you aren't kept awake with shouting into the early hours.

Pool area great, so many sunbeds and loads of room, inclusive games throughout the day if that's your kind of thing!

Thanks for such fabulous service! Value for money was really incredible, fast wifi and good food.

OMG

Omg after reading sum of the reviews on here for this hotel I think we must have been to the wrong one! The staff were rude and only smiling when speaking to Spanish guests, the room was very dated 1990s. the bathroom sink was cracked and mold on the grout round the bath .the beds were like park benches , underneath the beds I'm sure had never been cleaned since it was built as other people have commented room no 756 feet mark on the floor from previous guests still there when we left .The air con was rubbish, we reported it several times as we did the English channels on the tv not working.we stayed 11 nights the towels were changed but not the sheets until we pulled them off the bed .the food was ok although we only had a couple of meals there, very busy at evening meals although tables with reserved sign on for Spanish guests. Safe in room 18 Euro for a week plus 10 Euro s deposit with the added bonus of being able to take it to the beach if you wanted as it wasn't fastened down lol .our saviour was our son had a nice apartment ten mins in a taxi so we spent most of the time there. Can't comment on the pool we never used it .we booked this with Thomson, not up to their usual standards needless to say we won't be returning! We have booked holidays with Thomson for 30 years very disappointed would only rate 2 stars definitely not 3 !! So good luck

Good Choice of Holiday Hotel

The holiday was booked for a week; two rooms for the family. We were given two double rooms (twin for the children was not available). Both rooms overlooked the pool area and had sea views albeit quite distant. The rooms were very clean, large and well air conditioned. Both had balconies with seats and a small table. The hotel was 3* but I would suggest that the rooms, at least the ones we had, were 4*. Note each room is provided with towels and a safe. The safe however has a hire charge of €18 per week. The rest of the hotel was clean although gave a slightly tired appearance. The restaurant (we were on half board) was surprisingly good. It was buffet style with the option of a chef appointed grill if you were prepared to wait about 5-10 mins for something freshly cooked. The food was of a good quality and plenty of it. We were able to swap evening meal for lunch when required.
All the staff, apart from the reception staff, were very friendly and helpful. Disappointing really that their 'front of house' staff were dower and unhelpful!
The hotel is about a 10 min walk to the beach and main drag of restaurants and bars which was a pleasant stroll.
I would however happily to rebook with this hotel should I go to Tenerife again.

Great hotel excellent food staff friendly and helpful especially Simone in the restaurant,There's a bar the whisky Jar a couple of yards from the hotel where they have fabulous tribute acts and a really good Chinese also a couple of yards away.

Could be better.

Myself, my husband and daughter have just returned from our first visit to Tenerife. Firstly we loved the resort, plenty for everyone, nice bars, resteraunts something for everyone. We travelled with Thompson's couldn't fault them at all, pleasent friendly flight there and back. When we arrived at the Catalonia check in was quick, staff were very friendly. The room we had was a average room you would expect to get abroad, it had air con, ceiling fan, fridge, TV and a safe. Down side no sockets except the fridge and TV socket so you have to unplug one so make sure you take an extension cable. Rooms ok I would say surface clean, dig deeper you would say they could have been cleaned bit better. Clean towels every day, sheets not changed till our 12th day so didn't see point when only had two nights left. Our floor never got swept or moped for the full two weeks, glass or patio door not wiped. Rooms need bit of tlc but ok. The pool and terrace area spot on, clean and relaxing not over hectic. The best thing is no rush for sunbeds, did not get unchained till 9am, the beds round pool 10am, no mad rush and plenty beds to get. Food was good, plenty to choose from but a little repetitive so after two weeks your ready for something different but overall food nice. Overall the hotel is good if you were over picky you wouldn't go anywhere, staff were helpful we enjoyed our stay and would go back. If your thinking of going to Siam park think again, it was far to busy you had to wait to get on rides for up to two hours for some of them. The park itself is lovely but more enjoyable at quieter times, some people were saying aqualand water park just as good. We enjoyed our day but it could have been better. Hope this has been helpful, we would definitely go back to Tenerife, and back to the same hotel just think the rooms could be a little better and bit cleaner.
