alright for short stay
ARM0903on 12/07/2017 18:57Check in was fast, The room was small and was facing the street on the first floor. The television remote in the room was difficult to operate. The location of the Hotel is very good and close to various restaurants.
OK for a short stay
John_MtEdenon 01/07/2017 17:04A fairly basic hotel but in a reasonable location between the railway station and the main squares. We had a twin room with extremely narrow beds. The breakfast was very basic with little choice. Staff were helpful.

Nice hotel
Dref-57on 01/10/2016 10:56This hotel is located near the train station enabling to join the city centre within 5-10 minutes walking. The employees were very nice and the room was quite pleasant but with an old decoration style. The breakfast was a buffet with possibility to ask for italian espresso and cappucino. Nevertheless, the buffet was quite small with a limited choice, certainly due to the limited space of the breakfast room. To park the car, it is quite mandatory to go to the train station parking for 16 euros per day. It is possible to park in front of the hotel for several minutes to drop off the luggages.
Clean, comfortable and affordable
caliroanon 28/08/2016 15:45We spent a night at the Italia before flying out of Trieste Airport.
Our room with 4 single beds was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning worked fine. Wifi was weak. Small box shower in the bathroom but the showerhead was powerful and hot water was plentiful. Very quiet with the windows and shutters closed at night. Breakfast was fine - pastries, ham, cheese, muesli, yogurt - the standard stuff.
I would have rated the Italia 4 stars but we had an issue with our car on the day of our departure. We told the front desk at 8:30 that we needed our car at 10am. When we came down at 10, the car was not there. The front desk clerk was involved in a long discussion with an Italian couple about which sites to see in Trieste and didn't acknowledge us until 10:10. She claimed she had called for the car but it was 'stuck in traffic' coming from the garage. She called the valet service to check and our car arrived at 10:35. Interestingly there was NO TRAFFIC as we drove through town and headed to the airport. The delay was stressful and unnecessary and while the clerk blamed the valet service, I'm not buying it. Would I stay here again? Probably. But I would be very diligent about reminding the front desk about what time the car was needed.
