What People are saying

Great holiday

marieajones1970on 16/08/2017 21:25

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Bungalows were well presented, clean and modern. Although we were all inclusive, it was great having a kitchen. The patio had sun loungers as well as a table and chairs, nice touch! Staff were helpful and there was plenty of choice with the food, very tasty. The reviews about the security did concern us before we went but it is like being at home, don't leave valuables outside or in view and lock your door, then you don't invite unwanted visitors! Reception staff clearly explained the importance of security, thank you. It really wasn't an issue. Refreshing to be able to get sun beds by the pool without the usual troubles. They are locked up until 10am, where even then it was all quite calm. Umbrellas can be got before 10am. Please bring back ice creams you can pay for at the pool bar, nice to have a choice. Located within 10 minutes of the beach, harbour, shops and bars, plenty to do including crazy golf. Great market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Definitely would go back!!

Good place to stat

Our 2nd time in Caleta & not disappointed. The apartments are kept very clean & are presentable. They have air con (refundable deposit 12E) for controls & have everything you need. They have a sunny patio with chairs/beds.
Staff not the cheeriest but only dealt with them on arrival & on going home.
The pool is quite regimented ie no inflatables, balls, no sun beds until 10am with walkways kept clear etc which isn't a bad thing as it's quite busy with beds only on 2 sides of the pool.
These apartments are well situated 5 mins from the centre & beach.

Lovely place

We had a lovely stay the bungalows are nice and clean and all the people are really friendly the bungalows are 5 min walk to shops, bars and the beach and their are so many different restaurants around we had tea in a different one every night and the food was lovely in each one, on Tuesday and Saturday their is a market a few min walk up the road. The pool is good and the bar area next to it is ok . Can't comment on the food at cay beach we tried one night to have tea here as looked nice but you had to book before 8 in the morning and pay for all inclusive for the Day which was 28 per person, the cay beach was only about 20 min from the airport 15 euros in a taxi, theirs a free bus to the zoo pick up was 8.55 and was about 40 min away, theirs is a road train that takes you to the Harbour or is about 20 min walk along the beach we walked up past the harbour and their was chipmunks all in the rocks. we would definitely return to cay beach but instead of going for 7 days would go for 10 as their is so much to do around the island.

Lovely 10 night All inclusive holiday family of four with older teens.

I am a realist and for what we paid this was great! We had to pay 4 adult prices and keep within a budget & yes if money was no object we may have gone elsewhere but we had a lovely holiday here. The staff were lovely & friendly. I will agree with another reviewer, we booked a 2 bedroom accommodation 10 months in advance & they tried to convince us to swap to 2 1 bedrooms on arrival but I stuck to my guns & didn't swap! In a 2 bedroom the air con is in the lounge so the bedrooms could be warm at night but we worked around it.
My teens are fussy eaters ,one is a vegetarian but they survived the 10 nights ,were not hungry once! Hubby & I were very happy with the food choice.
The entertainment was very low key which suited us, we've done the whole entertainment thing when the children were younger. We were happy to go for walks after dinner & sit in the bar area on our return. There was an entertainer in the day some days ,he was lovely ,didn't offer loads but again enough for our teens. He even did the activities of their choice on our last day.
The bar & restaurant staff work hard are friendly. Our accommodation was lovely. It was cleaned every day except 2 which are scheduled days off. We didn't get fresh towels every day but enough.
The pool hours were 10-6pm which worked for us. People started to reserve sun umbrellas & beds were released around 10am ,we always managed to get enough for our family. We were aware before we went of the no inflatable rule. We found the pool quite pleasant without them & our teens took inflatables to the sea some afternoons & did some water sports down there too so the best of all worlds!
If I were to make 1 criticism it would be our AI wristband being cut off at 12noon on departure day. I have never experienced this anywhere else.In fairness they made it clear the moment we arrived & we chose to pay 20 euros to keep our room until 5pm on departure day due to a late flight & they also made that clear before taking money from us that it included room only.
All in All a lovely holiday & a Big Thankyou to our Thomas cook rep who was great the whole time we were there.

Why are people complaining?

I'm reading reviews on here about this complex being poor and staff being rude. We didn't experience any of this when we were here. The staff were friendly and helpful and enjoy a bit of banter.
The accommodation is perfectly adequate for a couple of weeks and is of a good standard. We have paid a lot more to stay in a lot worse.
It's ideally situated and you can ask for a late checkout that costs around 30€
I often wonder if people are expecting the Ritz even though they are paying premier Inn prices!!!!
Cockroaches - yes you get them but in the whole fortnight we were there I think we saw 2 on the street. But surprise surprise it's a hot country and you're going to get bugs!!! I get more hassle from the midges in Scotland than I do the cockroaches in Spain!!
You get a wee map in arrival and thorough instructions as to where to go you just have to listen!!
