Cedar Breaks and National Parks

We really enjoyed our stay, the facility was lovely, beds were comfortable, and a great home base for visiting National Parks. Enjoyed the game room. Our kids got to play pool and air hockey. We made use of the BBQs in the main area. We really had a good time. Highly recommended

Cedar Breaks, Zion & Bryce

RTOlsonon 21/06/2017 03:36

We loved our stay in Brian Head. We put on a lot of miles in the national parks, but do not forget Cedar Breaks National Monument. Worth doing.

As for Cedar Breaks Lodge, we appreciated that the staff did some little things that can be easily skipped; like cleaning the grills each night. In addition, they made follow-up phone calls to us to keep us posted on some issues.

If you have a choice, we would recommend that you get the larger 1 bedroom condo instead of the regular one. The kitchen in the smaller condo has a very tiny kitchen and tough to have two people working there to make meals or clean up.

The pool was shut down for a few days for maintenance when we were there, which was disappointing after long days hike in the park. In addition, we had to reconnect with the wifi every time we left the building and came back, but it was very strong in the rooms once connected.

Overall we enjoyed our week there and would recommend it, with the bigger one bedroom.

Summer time at Cedar Breaks

The staff were amazing, warm, and welcoming. They took great care of our family! This is a great location for summer fun at Brian Head as well as scenic drives and hikes at Cedar Breaks National Monument. We took a day and went to Bryce Canyon National Park as well. Not too far of a drive. We're looking to book a family reunion trip there next year.

Good as a base to visit Utah National Parks

The lodge is located in tiny Brian Head, UT. It is very close to beautiful Cedar Breaks National Monument. It is an easy day trip to Zion National Park and Bryce National Park. There are activities such as a frontier museum in nearby Cedar City, UT. Cedar Breaks Lodge itself would not be on my destination as a place to stay, except for the proximity of the beautiful scenery of southern Utah; it does make a decent base for sightseeing. You will be driving quite a bit however. If you wanted to ski in the winter, it might be fine as a destination.

The staff are friendly and efficient.

Some groceries are available at Apple Annies Store, but it is quite limited and the cost is a bit high. Skim milk is not available. Cedar City would be a good place to stock up.

The rooms are quite adequate but modest in size. Parking is available underneath each of the 3 lodge buildings. Elevators are good size. There is a nice roomy laundry room with 3 or 4 washers and dryers available free.

Our room could be cleaner (dusty blinds, baseboards, splatters on cabinets, bathtub has scum buildup). The one-midweek cleaning is not what I think of as a traditional cleaning, but a replacement of sheets and towels and removal of trash, not cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, etc. Sheets and towels very nice quality, the king bed is ok. Couch cushion sinks when you sit on it, but it looks good. Nice big TVs.
Small one bedroom unit has windows just in the bedroom. The kitchen/hall area has a full refrigerator, 2 burners, a small sink with garbage disposal, and a microwave. It has no dishwasher or oven and very limited counter space and is furnished with a set of 4 dishes and glasses.
There is no air conditioning, but both rooms have ceiling fans. We did not need air conditioning in June. The fireplace would feel good when the weather is colder.

There is a restaurant on site that has decent food and service.
