Not a bad spot, nice bar, great breakfast

Many of the reviews here are overly harsh. The hotel is a bit dated but comfortable. The bar is beautiful, good breakfast. We didn't have an evening meal. Shower in the room was fantastic. Seems like some areas had been recently renovated too...

So homely & welcoming!

We had the pleasure of staying at cedar lodge. The owners were exceptionally friendly! They were so attentive to our needs. The food was absolutely delicious. It is a traditional hotel & well worth the visit.

This Hotel is a Beautiful Oasis

We spent one night at this hotel last October doing the Wexford Opera Festival. Our room was immaculate and the bathroom was sparkling. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. This hotel has it's own unique character and is a welcome change from the bland hotel chains that seem to be everywhere these days. The hotel bar has a nice wood burning stove and there is a beautiful view of Carrigbyrne Hill and the surrounding countryside. The Irish breakfast was delicious.

My boyfriend and I were in Ireland last week for a vacation, and during our time there, we spent two nights at the Cedar Lodge hotel, as arranged through our tour organizer. From the minute we checked in, we had a great experience!! The owner was at the front desk and he was friendly and helpful. Once we got settled in our room, we decided to go down to the bar for some drinks. I really liked the bar..it was nice and perfectly lit, the beer was cold :) And the owner (I really wish I could remember his name :( ) came by and talked to us for a couple hours. We loved conversing with him; he took the time to get to know a little about us and told us some amazing stories and history of Ireland and the area; we talked about a little of everything and it was lovely. The dinner was delicious and the staff were friendly. We were trying to plan our week and the owner loaned me some of his tour books, as well as helped us with maps and directions and helped us organize what sites to see where, so that we could get in as much as we could and get to things in a reasonable time frame! Breakfasts were delicious and fresh. We had a small concern with the shower (the hot water wasn;'t working in the shower) but we made mention of this to the owner right away and he took care of the issue immediately. He even kindly opened up another room that wasn't in use so we could shower while he got ours taken care of. We came back at the end of the day from our excursions and everything was working perfectly. We appreciated how quickly he got everything resolved. At check out, we were having some issues with our car rental place and he called them for us to sort everything out. We really couldn't have asked for better service. We want to thank the owner (please let us know what your name is) for being so friendly, helpful and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay!!!!

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The bar had a lovely country feel. Very relaxing . But the rooms where very cold heat was only turned on when we got to our room and didnt go on again for the rest of our stay and with baby this wasnt ideal.
Bedrooms were very dated and had cobwebs on the walls.
€139 for a night is very over priced.
Food was lovely but also very expensive.
Would not rate this hotel as a 4 star.
