Spent 2 night in our favourite hotel .We're unable to book earlier as it was National Eisteddfod in Bangor and rooms were fully booked ,decided to extend our stay if we could have a room in the Celtic and we were lucky ! Have stayed many times in the last 18 years +.Never dissapointed with rooms always just what we need .Food great especially breakfast ,the dinner at night has great choices ,we were on their "summer sizzler " always a good deal .

One night stay

Stayed here last night as part of our Shearings tour. Lovely hotel, ideally located , being an easy five minute stroll to the town, castle and quay. Older style room, clean and spacious, and very comfortable. Friendly and attentive staff, a really good three course dinner for our group, and an excellent buffet breakfast this morning, with both hot and cold food. Lovely bar and lounge area with lots of cosy nooks. Would definitely recommend.

Great Hotel in great location

We really enjoyed are stay at the Celtic Royal Hotel which is a well appointed hotel in a very good location for all of Caernarfon. The staff throughout the hotel are excellent and very efficient, in a very friendly manner. The restaurant offers an excellent breakfast and dinner menu, don't know about lunch as we were always out. In fact we will definitely stay there again.

High quality hotel in walking distance of the old town

We spent three days at the hotel as part of a wedding group. Our room on the first floor was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet with lots of choice. Bar prices are what you would expect in a good hotel, but there are lots of good pubs in the old town in walking distance. Caernarfon is a lovely town and a great base for Snowdonia and Anglesey. There is a swimming pool and spa, so don't forget your swimming costume!

Very accomodating, definitely went the extra mile at a time of need

After a camping disaster, and in appalling weather, decided to retreat to a decent hotel. This was the only one who treated our requests decently. Jennifer, receptionist, was not only welcoming and kind at 10.15pm, finding us two quiet rooms away from road - she was also tolerant of three stroppy tired children - but also went out of her way to tackle manager about finding a way to dry quite a lot of our stuff, which was completely sodden after a day on Snowdon in the rain (why does one do these things) with no hope of getting dry in the incessant rain. Despite manager's initial reluctance, she found a practical solution, and everything dried well overnight. This girl deserves recognition as a highly valuable employee. Her customer relations skills were absolutely top.

Spacious hotel with an initially stunning lobby impression, nice job, Mr Architect. Rooms are of a good size, but need updating - poor water pressure (we were on first floor), old-fashioned taps that didn't work particularly well, and old-style MIRA shower that was hard to get the correct mix of temp and pressure. Very few bathroom surfaces on which to stand the myriad contents of the modern woman's wash and cosmetic bags. Bed OK, but pillows definitely not of the feathered variety. Light switching distinctly esoteric - you could only switch the bathroom light on and off by the room's entrance door. No real cosy bedside lights. TV and wifi worked fine. Poor insulation from above - the occupant of the room directly above us started moving around at 06.10. So get a top floor room and wake others up to your heart's content.

Breakfast truly excellent, everything hot and well-cooked, good selection of fruit, cereals, yoghourts, grapefruit juice (yes!!).

So full marks for everything downstairs (and a special mention of Jennifer on reception), and about 7/10 for everything upstairs - which, to be fair, just needs a comprehensive update.
