I was just come back from a long business trip and looking for a relaxing place close to BKK, decent stay, beach front with not too costly option to spend time with my girlfriend.
We were browsing through several option and Novotel Pattaya came up. Several review were discouraging but due to time limitation we think will give it a try. (We booked through booking.com, so decide to go check it out, if not ok will just drive some where else to stay).
It's actually a great decision, since arriving the entrance and way to the lobby give you a cozy modern hotel atmosphere, unlike typical Novotel. We decided will just go check the facility and the view first before go to the lobby to check-in (Because of the review).
Everything was just beyond expectation (for the price & review). I would define it as the mini version of Centara Grand Pattaya. (Which was full during this time).
We got the 1st floor pool access room, with the pool view and also the beach.
I would like to say thanks to the receptionist name "Booky" who's been accommodating me and my girlfriend very well and make it an enjoyful trip.
We were surprised this hotel never come up before when we search for Pattaya stay, but it's definitely on our list now for the next trip.
If you like Centara Grand kind of hotel but less crowded, I recommend this place.
PS: from the review, the the trick might be to stress with the staff or your booking agent that you want a sea view. So they know what to do. We were lucky we did not have that problem.

Deluxe sea view room offers spectacular view of the Gulf of Thailand. The room has large balcony with a day bed. However, the day bed is dirty with bird droppings.
Bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is very large with rain shower and bathtub. The downside is the hot water is not stable.
Wifi is easy to connect, but a bit slow. I experienced some problems while watching online streaming movie.
As Accor Silver member, I got to use the exclusive check-in desk and received free welcome drinks at the pool bar.
Overall, I have a great stay despite some issues mentioned.

We booked on Accor web site/app for a superior room for 2 nights. Unknown at the time of booking: the room was windowless with the big stickers all over; no outside view from the room. It was a version of a CHEAP hotel room for 300 Baht a night in Bangkok. We were not aware of this sticker enclosed room from Accor website or its App on iPhone. The hotel is on the seaside; what is the purpose of people visiting here?
Though, we were moved to a suite room at another building the early next morning with the proper Novotel's standards, with exception of small not-adequate glass shade in bath area for the suite room.
The staff's hospitality was excellent throughout our stay. Barbecue dining was enjoyable. We appreciated the prompt solution by the staff to move us to the better room; but, we would never be back at this hotel for the experience of a first nightmare stay in a CHEAP, WINDOWLESS room.
Please, Accor Hotels Management be professional and give out the information of the shortcoming of this "superior" room on your website or App!

This was not my first time here but it will be the last time to stay here. I come here with my couple to celebrate our birthday. But the hotel made me moody since arrival.
I arrived hotel before 2pm and Almost 1hr after check in I just got my room even today was not high season or long weekend. They upgraded to another room type. But The room has been upgraded located on 5th floor and in the back of the hotel. When open the curtain, it has a view of the construction. I never found the hotel upgraded the terrible room type for customer before.
I asked them to change me back to superior as I booked. They come and pick me to another room that maid still cleaning. I have to wait in front of the room for a while. Before get in my room, hotel officer told me that because I didn't book room via their website and not a n ACCOR member that why I got the room too late. Because hotel will give the right for ACCOR member to get a room first. WTF!!!
I would like to tell you that I am an ACCOR member. But is it the right of the customer to book through any site? Or because customers book on another site is cheaper than on Accor site, so there is no need to take care or service as it should take care any member. Where is the hotel's customer service standard?
Some customer don't want to blame you because they want to upgrade their room, but they just want to get a room that they booked as fast as possible to take a rest after a long distance driving.
If you cannot manage your hotel to be better than this, I strongly recommend you to close your hotel.

Stayed for 1 night but didn't want to return back again. Cleanliness was poor. Found the disgusting stains at toilet bowl and at the couch. The drainage was totally worst. You couldn't take a shower as the water will flow out from the shower room. I was offered the room upgrade because of the stains found. But encountered a same problem about the drainage but too tired to report them as I planed to stay just 1 night.
