Good and cheap

Not far away from Auxerre, a big road of 4.5 km, rooms have space and the bathroom is quite good too. Very cheap, breakfast not included. I travelled alone and I wanted to save some money ... this hotel was perfect.

Easy to find and nearby there is Leclerc with gas station. Not far from Auxerre by car. The room was ok, good parking however the toilet flush was broken and the cleanliness was not so good on the floor. There was no air condition. Otherwise it was ok and cheap.

Friendly reception and comfy bed with decent bed linen. Let down by old and worn carpets in both the room and on the corridors. Bathroom tiny and shower was a hand held thing which made hair washing difficult. Quiet overnight and located within walking distance of two Chinese restaurants.

Stopover with Chinese options

Nice, quiet and efficient out-of-town hotel at 10 km from Auxerre, with friendly staff, large parking space, 24-hours reception and two Chinese buffet Restaurants just next door. The rooms are really large for this type of Transit Hotel.

This is typical of what on should expect at the lowest-price private bathroom hotel. This is very similar to Premiere Classe and hotelF1. At $30-35 per night, the rooms have the very basics. I was surprised by the comfort of the bed, but not surprised by the tiny bathroom, mediocre towels, sparse decor and poor maintenance inside the room.

The hotel is well situated with other hotels of similar and slightly-better class. It is close to the N6 highway and a few smaller towns. Auxerre is about 10 minutes away, Chablis is 25. There is breakfast available, but as is typical of France, I don’t find it a value. Those addicted to coffee might.

As a whole, Cerise was clean and the staff was pleasant. Their English was acceptable.

There is no elevator that I saw, reflexively taking the stairs because this is a cheap hotel in France and I need the exercise. The poor maintenance I spoke of is wholly in the finish work; nothing was broken or dangerous. Some fixtures like the soap dispenser are just slapped onto a wall with no cosmetic finish work done to make it look nice.

The bathroom is bigger than the ones on airplane, but only because there is a shower. Don’t expect to have a friend shower with you! The WiFi was good enough to stream videos.

There are restaurants nearby, close enough to walk. Campanile, a buffet and a Chinese place. Campanile was nice enough to give me some ice to chill a bottle of Champagne I had.

Everything here was easy: finding the hotel, parking, wifi, checking out, etc. 3 stars because nothing was great or awful. This is a great value, though. Booking online was cheaper than stated price at desk.
