What People are saying

Tasteful luxury, beauty and style

What a lovely hotel. Everything is just right: a beautiful chateau, lovely gardens, very classical styling. We were upgraded to a suite with views into the garden in two directions. We enjoyed every minute of the comfort, service and sheer luxury of this place.
The hotel is just a few minutes away from the enchanting and very authentic fishing village of Port en Bessin.
Highly recommended!

What a nice place!

We staid two nights in this wonderful hotel:
+ Good food (specially the meet: Veal + Beef)
+ / - Breatfast was good (good home made bread) but unfortubately no Samali and no fresh Yogurt)
+ Beatuiful room (jr. suite)
- No shower only a bad
- Small bathroom
- Small portions (dishes) in the restaurant

Grand Chateau

We were told to stay in Honfleur but opted for Port en Bessin and we are so glad that we chose here. Driving down the long entrance driveway we knew we were in for something spectacular and we were not disappointed. We were able to drive right up to the reception area to unload our baggage before parking our vehicle in the car park which gets locked over night. However, should this car park becomes full, there is a larger car park available for use on the property.
We received a very warm welcoming and was assisted with our luggage to our room.
Upon entering our room we were greeted with a nice bottle of wine, complimentary water and a generous fruit platter, which we appreciated.
The decor of our room was lovely and we overlooked the large lawn area of the property. The bathroom had nice thick towels, robes and slippers plus a good hairdryer.
This property has a huge garden that is nicely maintained. You could find quiet spots to sit and enjoy the weather. Plenty of seating with umbrellas too. The pool is away from the main building - a bit of a walk but in a quiet area too with a small casual restaurant for snacks or a light meal (when open). The sun loungers and cushions at the pool area were of good quality. The main building had a good size reception area, nice library room as well as a pleasant bar area plus its restaurant, which was fine dining. Unfortunately we did not have breakfast here due to our busy schedule but we did have dinner here one night, which was absolutely magnificent. The staff were friendly and could also speak English.
The property has an excellent gym in its own building plus a tennis court.
There is a lovely herb and vegetable garden on the property, which they use in their kitchen for their restaurant.
A fan was placed in our room as it was quite warm during our stay.
At one stage the power went off but the staff were very quick to fix it, guessing with back up generators.
We spent two nights here but could have spent another.
Definitely recommend staying here.

Great property

Our family spent three nights here and will go back. It is a beautiful Chateau in a perfect location to enjoy Normandy. Our rooms were very comfortable and one had a lovely courtyard with table and chairs to enjoy a late afternoon glass of wine around.

The food is what you would expect in a fine restaurant, we ate breakfast each morning and dinner one night. We chose to explore other area restaurants for dinner but would have been pleased to stay on property if we had been in the area before.

The staff is alert to any need you might have and the front desk, bar, housekeeping and dining room staffs are friendly, polite and helpful. We would highly recommend you looking at this wonderful property if you are visiting Normandy.

Nothing was too much trouble

You just get the feeling from your first request that nothing is going to be too much trouble. Has to be up there as one of the friendliest hotels in France.
The Chateau and accommodation itself is in first class condition and the grounds are beautiful. After the crowds at the Normandy beaches and visits to other coastal towns in the vicinity coming back the Chateau is like entering an oasis.
We couldn't eat there every night ( over a 6 night stay) as the food, while excellent, was a little 'gourmond ' and a simpler meal is sometimes better. In this regard the nearby town of Port-en Bessin provided a variety of food and excellent seafood.
