Lovely place with beautiful surroundings. There was hiking trails in the woods, birds and kangaroos in the garden. The room was clean and quiet. The owners were very nice. A true place to visit for birdlovers.

My wife and I are both from Switzerland and that Chalet is so close to what you get in the swiss alps. We were met by the friendly owners who showed us all the facilities. As soon as you get up there you feel right at home. Right at the parking lot you'll see some kangaroos and playing tennis and bushwalks are definetly a highlight up there. It is definetly a good place to get away and forget the busy cities. We are definetly refreshed after our stay there.

The owners are genuinely nice and welcoming- this makes my scoring higher than a 2 star. Unfortunately the hotel is run down and although it has tennis courts, Indoor heated pool along with spa/ sauna; the whole thing is uninviting.
Sad because in its prime 30+ yrs ago this place would have been 4.5star and a real destination.
Our Delux room - was clean and bed comfortable so for the rate charged it was fair value. Woke up to the sound of Kookaburra's; the grounds also have resident Kangaroos which 'greeted' us upon arrival, grazing near the main entrance then hopped off as we approached.
5min drive out of Batemans Bay CBD but worth it if you like being surrounded by Aussie bush in a comfortable hotel.

We spent 6 nights at the Chalet and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful, natural setting with no noise and all the amenities we needed. Our room was very neat, tidy and clean and the bathroom and mini kitchen facilities were also clean and adequate. The laundry access was very helpful as were the small personal touches and interest from the owners. Breakfast was convenient and yummy and filling. Great coffee Herbert!!! It was nice to meet and chat with other travellers but still have your own privacy but if this is not your cup of tea, or you want modern and brand new, then the Chalet is not for you.

While this accommodation is a little outdated (it is VERY clean) - it has awesome character and provides a great opportunity to unwind and get back to nature. The bushwalk and wildlife were just great, especially through the rainforest. Elizabeth & Herbert are lovely hosts who obviously have a very laid back approach - which helps you to relax and slow down.
