On our way to the south we visited this quiet, charming hotel just north of Lyon. Beautiful rooms, a romantic terrace and excellent food. Good to know that the parking place is secured. We sure will come back.

Hip Charming Hotel

We stayed in room 15. We checked in and the room was cool and comfortable. It was in the mid 30's outside and the air-conditioning worked fine. The room was large by European standards and average size for the US. The king size bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet as we had requested. The bathroom was very large with a double sink, nice tub and good water pressure for the shower. The staff is very friendly. There is a spa on site which I took advantage of for a pedicure. The hotel breakfast was terrific. If I had one complaint it was that the room was a bit dark, but there are plenty of salons on the ground floor to sit and work in and the courtyard is quite lovely as well.

This hotel is in a charming building in a quiet location very close to Lyon. Our room (no 2) was comfortable and with character. We particularly appreciated the large bench which meant we could open all our suitcases simultaneously. Despite being next to the lift and on the road, the room was quiet so long as the window was closed and we enjoyed a good night's sleep.
The air conditioning was quiet and effective.
The car park was roomy and secure.
There is good wifi in both our bedroom and the public rooms.
We did have an issue with the room key. Because there was only one member of staff on duty we had to find our own way to the room. We could not get the key to work. Neither could the receptionist. She then brought up several keys and got the fourth one to open the door. After a short trip to the bank, that did not work. Another key was provided. This worked albeit after a fairly hefty push at the door.
One of the overhead bed lights looked distinctly poorly.
The shower was in the bath with a glass screen. The shower head needed to be slotted into a holder - too high for my five foot one wife! I had to stand on tip toe.
We did not try the spa and did not take breakfast.
This potentially great hotel was let down on this occasion by a lack of attention to detail.

The hotel accommodation was as advertised with the exception of the air conditioning which could not be set lower than 19 degrees C at a time when the daytime temperatures were reaching 30.
The cooking, however, was in a league of its own. My rack of lamb was RAW with a thin outer cooked crust the first time I received it. It was sent back only to return cooked to the core. My second rack was EXACTLY the same with the same outcome on returning it to the kitchen. My wife's pork was not a particularly exciting dish either.
Needless to say we did not wait for desert. I have to mention the waiter who couldn't have been more accommodating and brought us a sandwich to the room with profuse apologies. The wine and the first course of fois gras were excellent.
I hope this is of use to anyone who is interested.
