Hotel is nice 'French' although topped with a kitschy touch. How to combine a hotel with throwing birthday and wedding parties...?
Great location for an overnight stop
ARM167on 02/07/2017 01:27This is a good hotel in a lovely location, peaceful and surrounded by open country. Rooms are comfortable and furnished in keeping with the age of the property. Excellent breakfast, helpful and welcoming staff. We stayed twice at the start and end of a two week trip to the south of France. First night the dinner was superb - as good as any we have eaten in France. The second evening was not so good, probably because the hotel was also catering for a huge wedding party, and the food and service suffered.
Disappointed
ianrG5308NIon 21/06/2017 13:54My wife has poor mobility, there were no grab rails on the bath/shower or shelves and hooks in the bathroom. The grounds and buildings are excellent but the Castle rooms need to be upgraded e.g carpets thoroughly cleaned. Reception staff were pleasant and attentive.
Magical chateau
Sean Eon 17/07/2016 09:34Beautiful chateau in lovely grounds. The room was unique in the tower of the chateau with a circular bed. Restaurant was huge and attractive although I did not dine there. Staff were very professional and courteous.
It looks nice, but disappointing
Fernanda Aon 06/07/2016 08:27The hotel looks nice athough it needed a bit of a touch up. We stayed in 5 at a two-room apartment in the attic, with one bathroom which could be better. It seems like the hotel is in need of a renovation as the sheets, carpets, bathroom, all looked a bit worn-out. The reception desk personnel doesn't speak English, which is quite surprising. Our greatest disappointment was with the restaurant. Having arrived late, we chose to have dinner in the restaurant. Not sufre if because we don't speak French or if it was too late, we were ignored by the service team. We had to ask for everything two or three times, and the maitre'd even forgot to take note of our drinks. I have never visited a restaurant where I had to beg for some bread or ask to be served with more wine. The food was good, although they do not have anything more suitable for children's taste. Ten euro for a cheesecake that is almost the size of a 2-euro coin is really a bit too much! Not to mention that at checkout, I had to thoroughly check the bill as they charged for a bottle of water we had asked but never arrived and for a wine that was almost twice the price we had indeed order. Unfortunately, I' not planning on returning.
