What People are saying

A superior stay in a magical home

MarshallGulchon 05/06/2017 22:21

This Chateau from 1701 reveals 11
Individual unique stays. We were fortunate to choose the privilege room, the largest room. Super.
There are acres of meadow to stroll
And hammocks to slow you down even more. There are stairs but they are minimal. There is a lift. We were
Not aware of an evening meal choice. Our host made us reservations for two amazing restaurants in town. We stayed 2 nights and had one breakfast, paid..
Really delicious. Fresh everything, fruit, yogurt, jams and breads.
This was our first stay in a Chateau,
A great birthday gift to ourselves .

Nice Chateau, great for families

This was a cool, well renovated old chateau. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable with nice family suites (including a door separating two rooms)! The food here is excellent. It is local and fresh. I highly recommend the breakfast and dinner. A few minor inconveniences were that Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby of the chateau, and our A/C was not very powerful.

Wonderful Experience in Historic Property

Recently returned from a trip from Loire Valley and had the privilege of using this wonderful, historic property as our base to explore the area. The owner and chef were fantastic hosts during the entire stay. Would highly recommend taking a walk around the property to get a feel of its history.. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a fantastic view of the front garden area. It is located off the main highway in the Amboise area but is close enough to visit the town for meals.
Just a few things to think about: leaving the windows open at night cools the room up nicely, but the bugs like to join you also. The driveway can be a little tricky to find and may require a little maneuvering with your vehicle. In terms of dinner, there is no set menu and the Italian chef will prepare what he wants (the panna cotta dessert he made was one of the best we ever tasted)
In conclusion, would highly recommend staying here if visiting the Loire Valley. Hats off to the property owner!

Lovely place to stay in the Loire Valley

We recently spent two nights at Château de Perreux, using it as our base to explore the Loire Valley. The Château itself is unique and beautiful but even more enjoyable were our conversations with the owner, Olivier. Olivier is the most gracious of hosts, making guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive until the moment they continue on their journey. He is passionate and knowledgeable about the area and he arranged dinners for us both nights at wonderful little restaurants in Amboise. I encourage guests to take some time to explore the property both inside and out, especially the nature trails surrounding the Château. All in all, Château de Perreux is a lovely place to stay and explore when visiting the Loire Valley.

RestfulNight in a Chateau that was built in 1701 - Wonderful Location, Host, and Very Welcoming

Brad Mon 17/05/2017 06:10

My wife and I stayed here 1 night April 28, 2017. It was a little difficult finding the property but once found, we were amazed.

We checked kind of late (I think 8pm) but Olivier was very welcoming and professional. He made several calls to local restaurants to make reservations.

He showed us to our room which was a upgraded. The room was clean nicely decorated and as we found out in the morning, had a great view of the front lawn.

No phones or TV and even though it was listed as being available, we were unable to connect to the Internet which was even better!

The next morning, I took a walk around the front property notice several hammocks and the path passed the river. Very quiet location in the country.

Breakfast was delicious and consisted of local foods. Homemade jam, locally grown fruits, and black currant also locally grown.

Olivier made sure to check how we were doing during breakfast and we engaged in conversation and learned a lot of the property, the Loire Valley, and he offered suggestions for things to see and do.

We are planning to return on our next trip to the Loire Valley. We really enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend Chateau de Perreux
