What People are saying

Friendly staff

Richard400on 24/07/2017 16:23

The winery had no tour the day we went. There were about twenty of us. The hotel was fantastic. The staff was very considerate of those that were handicapped. The gift shop was beautiful. We went to lunch at the golf pro shop restaurant overlooking the course. The seating on the terrace was comfortable. There were about 6 selections on a sheet of paper of their offerings for lunch which you circled your selection. There were about 5 tables full of us.The waitress was there on her first day of work. She came back about twenty min. Later to collect the sheets of paper which were not collected in any order. The kitchen twent min. Later brought out three orders at a time and this went on for 1 1/2 hours. There was one short order cook in kitchen and the manager was on vacation. The ice tea had a bad taste to it. The 3 waitresses were very nice and apologetic. Everyone was very unhappy. This was my worst dining experience ever. The second cook did not show up for work. This is a true story without the drama being mentioned.

Beautiful property, friendly service

This resort is beautiful. Entering the property you see the vineyard and the majestic winery ... similar to the Biltmore, but on a smaller scale. The service was impeccable from valet parking, front desk, winery, and the restaurants. Everyone was personable and welcoming. We discovered the Chateau employs interns (many from Europe) who are majoring in Hospitality. It was so much fun talking to young men from the Netherlands, Romania, and local Georgia College! We had a corner room that was large with two windows and a very large bathroom. The decor was very tasteful - beautiful bedding and embroidered window treatments.
We ate at Paddy's first, a very authentic Irish Pub (be sure to read the story on the menu that describes the design and shipment of the structure!). However, there was a VERY loud and rowdy group attending a convention for Michelen Tire that made it impossible to converse with our waiter or each other! So two thumbs up for Wisse from the Netherlands for providing us with wonderful service! Breakfast buffet in the Versailles was delicious and service was great. Our dinner at Marc was fabulous and the L'Auberge Lounge had a fun vibe and exceptional service. My highest rating is for the staff at le Soleil. It was hot as Hades at the pool and these folks were working it like crazy! Constantly bringing drinks, lunch and ice water to guests all the while enduring the 90+ heat! My only negative comment would be for an event billed as "The Taste of Georgia". We thought it would be a food event highlighting locally sourced foods - artisanal breads, cheeses, sweets. Our tour guide, Lucy was AMAZING and we thoroughly enjoyed the winery tour and our table mates. However, it was just a wine/food pairing with no mention of the locally sourced foods? All in all, we had a wonderful experience. We met a couple celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary and another couple celebrating their 7th. Both interactions were precious. Keep in mind that Chateuau Elan is primarily a convention, wedding and special event venue but we saw many couples, old and young, enjoy their time their!

Service at Versailles

The Chateau Elan is very nice and a must do experience. The Versailles restaurant has a delightful ambiance. The service and the food was awesome. The Sea Salt Caramel Cake was the highlight of my dish and Nolwazi M. the waitress was very knowledgeable, informative and provided superb service. She made our experience very comfortable and relaxing. The quality of service she provide will keep me coming back.

Feels like you are in a little piece of France

Loved the resort, very peaceful. Fully equipped with spa, tennis, fitness center, golf, winery tour and tasting and restaurants. It's truly all you need in your stay. Food can be a little pricey but it's very good. You are right off 85 so you can always jump to surrounding areas. If you are looking for a little R & R this Is the place !

Chateau Grandeur Private Tour

Dani_Wanderlust2017on 13/07/2017 03:45

We had a great time during our Chateau Grandeur Private Tour with Robin for my friend's bridal shower. Robin was very detailed and thorough when giving the tour and knowledgeable host during our wine tasting. She was very sweet, she even baked cupcakes for us. Definitely going back to Chateau Elan and ask for Robin.
